Vulva types:
1. The minimalist slit. Quite flat outer lips which conceal everything within.
2. The cameltoe. Puffy outer lips which again conceal everything within.
3. The “balanced” vulva. Medium sized outer lips which open to reveal clearly defined 3. inner lips in proportion to the outers.
4. The voluptuous vulva. Generous inner lips which are clearly visible, often folded or protruding between the outer lips.
Of course, many vulvas will be intermediate between types but I hope my classification will be adequate to cover most tastes.
There has recently been some coverage in the British press about body dysmorphia amongst adolescent girls and, in particular, how they feel about their vulvas. It seems that many girls see their vulvas as ugly, leading them to contemplate seeking cosmetic surgery to “correct” the perceived “problem”. Apparently, the perceived ugliness nearly always relates to the size of their inner lips (labia minora) with large lips, particularly if they protrude through the outer lips (labia majora) seen as repulsive.
Regular visitors to this site will be well aware that there is a huge variety in vulvas, not least the size ratio between inner and outer lips, the vast majority of which should be regarded as entirely normal. However, as I understand it, the rate of development of inner and outer lips can vary meaning adolescents with very prominent inner lips often find that their outer lips “catch-up” to ultimately result in what might be described as a “balanced“ vulva. Personally, I regard any vulval surgery that is not medically required as a tragedy but I think we could all agree that for a girl in circumstanced like that described above to have surgery would be doubly tragic.
My purpose in starting this thread is twofold; firstly, if the poll comes out how I think it will, I would like to think that any adolescent girl worried about her vulva might try some research and come across this poll and realise that every type of vulva is regarded as beautiful by a substantial section of the population whether male or female. After all, worries about one’s appearance, in whatever particular, are primarily about how other people will regard you. My second purpose is a much more light-hearted desire for a bit of fun – hopefully readers will post personal experiences and what led them to be attracted to a particular vulva type and perhaps images of those that really turn them on.
