I used the volunteer editors and was very grateful for the experience.

Thankyou Zaroff! I felt that you had some very helpful input into my most recent submission, as I had been a bit intimidated by the volunteer editors program up until that point. I just wanted to thankyou.

The editing resources available on this site are amazing! Having a story edited for you, for FREE, is an incredible resource to any serious writer. Editing can do so much for your story in terms of understanding reader expectations alone, that the time spent is worthwhile! To be able to have a sharp and experienced eye; go over your work, give you feedback, provide fresh options, and even check your grammer, is too good to pass up!

In fact it is so cool, that I started a thread about it!
I am wondering who out there uses the volunteer editors and who doesn't and why, or why not? What have some of the experiences been like for you working with Literotica editors? And editors, what has it been like working with Literotica authors?

i have to admit, i've stayed clear of the editors area. you've given me food for thought dear. thanks for sharing.

Volunteer Editors

I signed up to be a VE last fall, and since then have emailed the site twice about it, because they never added my name. The first email got a "sorry we've been busy it should be changed in the next few weeks" response; the second got none.
I posted as a "volunteer editor" here on the bulletin board and that didn't get much response UNTIL I started offering feedback...and those who saw how I work and what I look for then knew that they could trust me working with them as an editor. It takes a lot to let someone else handle your work.

I dunno... maybe I did something wrong. I mailed a dozen volunteer editors and when I didn't receive any reply from any of them, I contacted Quint and had her edit my story. Its posted now and I just got a reply from one of those editors saying that he/she is very busy and has no time for editing! I wonder why they submit their names for the volunteer editor program... Can't they get out of it once they've submitted their names?

I have to agree on the thanks.

Although I've only used the volunteer editors once, I must say that I learned more from that process then I ever thought possible.

It was my most complex writing, and probably the best in terms of style and grammar, it's one of my personal favorites.

Thanks
