After reading damppanties comments about the Volunteer Editors and thinking about my own year long struggle trying to get my name on the V.E. list, I'm offering my services here as a volunteer editor.
Please send emails, with story attached to ladyphoenix@literotica.org if you're interested. Please don't worry about telling me what you want to know about the story. You'll get a general critique, followed by specifics about what its strengths and weaknesses are.
Qualifications? Well, let's see. First, I suggest you read something of mine (feel free to avoid my first two attempts, "Wedding Jitters" and "Wildlife" which I wish weren't in print at all) to make sure you think I can write. Then email. NOBODY who emails me will be ignored. If I'm busy, or the material is too extreme for me, I'll let you know. I have a degree in English/Journalism, and am a published romance novelist ("Fortune's Bride" [Cheryl Spencer] Avon Books Feb. 1989). And hey, I just love the written word. My last two stories, "Night" and "Aaron's Lolita" (currently number one in the 'Mature' category) both hit number one on the site.
Turnaround time? Let's say, ideally one day (I'm rather anal retentive and hate things to back up) to a max of one week, for straight stories (no, that doesn't mean hetero only, it means single stories, not multi-part-ers or novellas).
You may also wish to look at my postings, reading the stories I've critiqued and then my comments to the author, to see just how honest I am and how correct you think I am before engaging your story with me. I look foward to getting some responses....so, here goes.....
