Volunteer editor software problem

I've just signed up as I wish to submit a story as I'm sure you all desperately want to read it.

As the story could do with a critical eye and some whipped cream, I have attempted to make contact with my preferred volunteer editor. I carefully chose the lucky victim at random after a good ten minutes of procrastination, which as all good procrastinators know - is not nearly long enough.

However, the software claims that my username and password are incorrect. In my loudest REG voice, "bollocks!"

Any clues on how to engage volunteer editors gratefully received.

I'm not too sure I understand what you're saying but I'll try to help by asking you a few questions.

How can your username and password be wrong? You use the same password and username to post here and it's working perfectly fine

You went to the editors' list, chose a VE, tried to send him/her a message and it wouldn't let you send it? Is that what happened?

My only guess would be for you to try again, maybe there was a glitch in the system when you tried and now it's gonna be okay...at least I hope.

If not make your request here, I'm sure someone will take pity ;) on you and decide to edit your story :)

Good luck

Sorry, I should have been clearer. The Editors contact submission form doesn't like my username. :(

It says "Invalid username or password".

I'm happy to work another way, as you suggest. If there's no real answer in a few days, I'll just use the pity option. :)

Ozfuzzy,

Did you find an editor? If you're still in need, check my VE profile and if it looks like I'll suit then send me a PM and I'll send you my email addy.

This is apparently some strange form of newbie hazing. I'm having the same issue.

I'm quite sure that my story could do with a once or twice over by a critical pair of eyes, and yet the very site I turn to in my time of need rejects me like a prom date in a chastity belt!

Since I'm not the only one with this issue, is there a web-head we can direct our angst towards?

Or can one of you majestic and avid forum readers help a guy out?

Thanks.

MidKnnight,

Apparently, yeah, it's a glitch in the system as you're not the only one complaining of it, I've had loads of new writers saying the same thing to me :(
I'll be sending a PM shortly to the powers that be here at Lit to let them know something isn't right.

In the meantime, take a look at my Editor's profile and if what you read there suits you send me a mail LadyCibelle. I don't have much time for taking on new writers but I hate to think that someone needing help can't get it because the system is *&(# so I'll take you on if you want me to.
