I am stealing shyguys idea from over on the am pic forum.
We have seen almost everyone heres face...how about some voices now?

http://www.4shared.com/
You can upload your file here.

Hope ta hear you soon...off to search for my mic lol :)

I managed to borrow a microphone, so here I am:

http://www.4shared.com/file/4565600/3379f3a7/voice_recording.html

Note: this file appears to require iTunes to play. Windows users, right click, click "Open With" and select iTunes, and you should be okay. Otherwise you'll get some business about windows being unable to open the file. Probably because the only voice recording software I could find on my Mac was for making podcasts, and the export features are a little squirrely.

Another note: you may need to crank the volume a bit, as it played very quietly on the Windows machine I tested it on.

Hmmm, can't get yours to work KC....keeps shutting down all my windows!! Nice Shy guy....and Spectre T.....yum...reminds me of a very good friend of mine who I have not seen in far too long. :rose:

I don't have a microphone thingie, and never have managed to hook the computer speakers up properly- the power light says they're on, and they made the clicky noise when I plugged the cord in, but no sound...

Anywho- y'all enjoy your voices and stuff. :)

Nice to be able to put a voice to the face. Adding a voice makes all the difference. Brings things to life. Makes things more real. This is a great idea. Wish i had a mic although even if i did, i probably wouldn't be able to figure out how to use it properly. *sigh* Aw well.

They could be plugged into the microphone jack instead of the speakers jack. Look for the one with a tiny etching that looks kind of like earphones. That's the one you want. The oval between two lines, or one that looks like an announcer's microphone is for the microphone. Poor design, making the jacks identical. Another possibility is the volume is turned down.

there should be an option to play it right from the site or download it. I just did both and they worked fine.

I often have people ask about my voice. I'll have to check into this at some point. I always run with the sound off.

The thing about your own voice, at least for me, is that I don't like it when I hear it recorded. The reason why, I've read, is that when we hear our own voices normally it filters through our bodies to our ears but recorded we hear it just like everyone else does. I don't know if that is true or not.

I've been told b-times I have a sexy voice. I dunno that I'd say that. As a person who studies voice art, there are many voices I've heard that are far better.

Adding to what spectre said, it could also be that the volume on your computer is muted or turned very low...

Bone conduction. The vibrations of your vocal chords resonate in your bones, as well as a portion of the sinus cavity that goes all the way to the inner ears. This changes the pitch a little bit.

Every once in a while I make a phone call to some lil subbie. I think kiten69 is addicted to my voice.

you have to do one with a command or two.....with that accent...oh my. i had better shut up now.
And just what commands would you like to hear me give? Feel free to PM me with a request, and your e-mail addy, and you might get lucky! ;)

I could not get Spectres but KC your voice is very soft and beautiful.

Unlikely that my voice will show up here, I am too shy for that

but I admire those who have shared, both here and in the dark room. It is good to put a voice to the posts :)

I've got a mike around here somewhere, used to voice chat using NetMeeting but that was years (and a couple of computers) ago... While I have no doubt I can connect it to the sound card, I'm so out of practice I might have to take a refresher course in "How to use a microphone on a PC" ...

Sheesh! The things we are willing to do for friends!

I'd do mine, but I don't know if any here speaks redneck.
Living next door to you (in South Carolina), I speak fluent redneck! Found the microphone, now all I gotta do is figure out how to record something with it...

I live in redneck central, I can translate it for anyone who needs help.
