Ah, I just love most anything and anyone that is French. C'est magnifique! I love "Frenching," French kissing, French fries, French wines, French cheeses, Isabelle Huppert, etc.

Vive la France!

Waiting for Godot

Although he was Irish, Samuel Beckett loved France so much he moved to Paris, and even wrote in French.

Paris is a lovely city. Their love of life and art is admirable too. But with these tensions going on, I've cancelled my upcoming trip there.

Roses

What for? The French like Americans-- they just don't like Bush. Wear a "Bush Sucks" button, and you'll be fine.

You can wear a "Bush Sucks" button anywhere in the world and be welcomed with open arms...

You should be pleased. America needs as many friends as it can get...

Poll

I saw a recent poll (on CNN, I think) which showed 57% of the French have favorable attitudes toward the U.S. and Americans, but only 15% had a positive attitude toward Dubya Shrub.

The French do like the Americans! Everyone was nice to me, and my French isn't even as good as it should be. All it takes is an open mind, don't act like an uptight ass, and they'll like you too.

Welcome back. I hope things are well with you.

As for traveling..there's too much emotion and turmoil in many places. The last thing I want to do is try to visit the Louvre and run across a giant crowd of rowdies in the Tulieries.
