http://www.americanthinker.com/prin...ckin_clockwork_orange_time_o_my_brothers.htmlO my brothers, we see these five hundred or more teenies, so described by those lovelies on the toddlin' town's nighttimey news tube, makin' merry along the Unmagnificent Magnificent Mile of glitterin' stores full of glossy bobbles and toys, and fine fooderies with silky girlies and suited men, eatin' all proper-like and quaffin' heady grapey reds and grapey whites like the toddlin' town still has the Ol' Abe Lincoln Park Zooey confinements swung closed and locked up tight with the nasty beasties inside them snug-like.
Except don't be roamin' the Unmagnificent Magnificent Mile after your quaffin' and belly-fillin' or puttin' shiny-like bobbles and toys in big glitzy baggies, nights, 'cause those teenies are out prowlin, lookin' for pumpkin-headies to smash; lookin' for moodges to give the ol' crack in the ribbies and do nasties to silky girlies and blue-black K.O. their beaus' eye-sockets.
Anthony Burgess did it much better in his classic A Clockwork Orange. But you get the point. Consider Chicago the first stop of your summertime tour of America's "Clockwork Orange" cities. Chicago -- where the adults have given way to the kids, feral in behavior, who take to the streets to assault passersby, vandalize property, steal, and, least but not last, bully luckless citizens. The list of cities will lengthen, assuredly. The nation may be in for a long, hot summer of urban street violence.
Crowds of black teens (though saying so is really forbidden, lest we get tagged as racists) took to Michigan Avenue and other Chicago streets just before Easter in a night of playful rampaging and violence. The mobs even went after a cop on a horse. Whites were mostly the targets, but so were law-abiding blacks and Hispanics who happened to get in the way. Assaulted Hispanics and blacks might want to rethink integration -- for their sakes. Stay away from whitey, for health and happiness.
The droogs have leapt from the pages of Burgess' novel (and Kubrick's film) onto Michigan Avenue. For now the droogs are black, but the flash mobbing or wildings, as they're termed, will spread, just like rap and the retched ghetto culture that goes with it. A Rainbow Coalition of youth mob violence will a-born. It's all part of the societal and cultural decay that's endemic in modern America.
Unlike the dimwitted droogs, the black teen versions employ the internet and social media to organize their wildings (more like use social media to build mass; what happens after that is mostly bedlam with injury, thievery, and destruction as aims).
Chicago has always done violence with such conspicuousness, drama, and flare. The Haymarket Riot was more lethal. The St. Valentine's Day Massacre had more panache. But flash mobs are more frightening in their randomness; the seeming inanity of attacking people who have done nothing to you does lends an air of dementia to the choreography of street violence drama.
Flash mobs are happening in New York and Philadelphia, and in other cities, too. But mobs in the Big Apple haven't captured the nation's fancy like Chicago. A while ago, Philly lassoed national media focus when Mayor Michael Nutter tongue-lashed urban black kids for their hijinks. But Chicago retains its status as Ground Zero for black flash mob violence.
Why have black teens taken to attacking whites, looting stores, and destroying property in flash mobs? Why are flash mobs presently a phenomenon nearly exclusively associated with black youth?
