Hi, have been thinking of this idea where there is a virtual world you can log in to and through augmented reality you are actually in the virtual world. Its a replica of your actual world except that you can redefine any specific aspects - like relationships. You can hv an affair with your wifes friend which in real life is not probable.

Is there something already on these lines? Does it look like an idea to develop?

You can satisfy all your fantasies through this virtual world without thr fear of consequences.

It's a great idea for all kinds of possible erotic stories. Here's a twist idea I've thought about:

A married man creates a virtual world character and begins an affair with a woman in this virtual world. His wife doesn't know. But, unbeknownst to him, the virtual woman with whom he is having an affair actually is the virtual world avatar of his wife, who it turns out is doing the same thing he's doing. So they're having an affair with themselves, and they don't even know it. They both explore fantasies that for whatever reason they never dared explored in their relationship in the real world.

While they have other bits as well, there are PLENTY of examples - litRPG is doing pretty well in all sorts of interesting places. The sex/kink/etc varies wildly from PG through unrated levels, depending on the author & subgenre. Harem is big, as is reverse harem, as are many others. Fair warning, not all the fetishes are for everyone!

There was actually a Munsters episode (TV show from the 1960s for you youngsters) where Herman and Lilly both took part time jobs, unbeknownst to each other, as welders. Dressed in heavy clothing and helmets, they didn't recognize each other, but still hit it off and started flirting with each other, thus proving that they were indeed truly meant for each other. What is litrpg?

It's a fairly new genre of sci fi/fantasy where the story revolves around some mechanism that the characters interact with like they're in some sort of role playing game.

This could be like the Remnant series by Randi Darren (William Arend's dirtier pen name) where the protagonist is a whole lot like the character you play in MineCraft - incredibly strong, has magic tools that do impossible things, etc. Or Blaise Corvin's "Delvers LLC" series, where two friends are magically kidniapped by a very powerful being and thrown into a world where people gain powers that can level up over time and gaining rare resources.

One common trope in the litrpg genre are people who enter into a virtual reality game so well defined and whose technology is so advanced that it's indistinguishable from reality once the game system powers up. The Armageddon Gates series by Daniel Schinhoffen is kind of one, where the protagonist was forcibly uploaded into a computer at the beginning of the series, or Stuart Grosse's "Rules Free VRMMO" series. Note that some of these, like that last one, push the boundaries of squick HARD. People get roasted & eaten, lots of noncon, etc.

There are lots of novels published out there in the intartoobs, free or for pay. OverRed's series I linked to earlier is one example I remembered quickly which is a good example of the genre.
