What a great way to waste a day! If I had money, this is the stuff I would wear- it's fabulous! And actually, there's a lot of stuff on sale too. (Not sure if it was this site or another.)

actually, it quite makes me wish I were a fashion designer. I would love to take these gorgous styles and change a detail or two and get all the teenagers today wearing truly elegent and classical styles:)

If I were a designer, my style would be an odd mix of 50's (clean, crisp, classic) w/ emphases on the hourglass figure (for everything) 60's bohemian (which is in now) mixed with a bit of straight-up hippy (again, with shape rather than some of the original shapeless stuff), go-go, and 20's flapper style (once more, with shape added in) and mabe a bit of dance hall girl from even further back and a touch of revivalist renasuance (sp!!!!) romantic.

also stollen from the 50's, a sort of 'innocent' sexuality (snug pink sweaters, emphasis on hips and bust, girly colors, covered but curvy- almost tongue in cheek)

I also have this thing for the 'bordello' type of look such as in the Lady Marmalade video- sexy, naughty, but a *lot* of material- silk, velvet, pearls, ect.

Anyone care to indulge with me in a 'fantasy fashion designer escapade'?

What types of shapes, materials, colors, patters, styles, eras ect. would you mix together? What would you make people wear if you were a fashion icon/rollmodel. (I used to think it would be cool to get everybody wearing 2 different colored socks- complimentary and complimenting the outfit, not clashing)

Stick with the fantasy - in real life it's long hours and a thankless task (the voice of experience here).

Otherwise, neat stuff SnP!

Cool thanks lil_elvis.

Would love to hear about it:)

I know for me it's too much of a passing fancy to ever be my 'calling' or anything. Even though I used to draw a lot of designs in my diary and try to wrap my sheets and towels into many different outfits.:)

Totally cute! I love it. :)
I actually talked my mother into buying a 50's style dress the other day - it looked so great on her. Very Dick VanDyke show-esque. Now, I just need to find a cute dress like that for myself. :)

I love this stuff too. It's one of the reasons I started making my own clothes, and later getting into costume designs. I never could find anything with the classy look of the 50's combined with the colors and flair of today.
