Pre-1980 the women in porn were natural, unshaved for the most part and often a little heavier. During the mid-80's it began to change and by 1990 nearly all porn queens were shaved and sported huge plastic breasts. The change came about because of changing styles generally and a big change in the age and demographics of those producing and watching porn.

Agreed. It may not be all for the best. But it's a matter of taste.

I think the interest in vintage porn derives from the fact that older porn never really tried to set any sort of body standard, it was just people naked on film.

If you take it back even further, into the world of art, you'll find renaisance (sp?) art showing women that are full figured, even at BBW standard compared to todays porn queens. Back then a full figured woman was considered to be very desireable and healthy.

If you want porn that shows real people, try concentrating on the swinger/amatuer websites rather than the more formal porn sites. Its been my experience that the girl next door isn't an anorexic escapee like so many porn sites try to depict them to be.

I think its a real shame that todays media is pushing the idea of thinness on our kids. Anorexia and other eating disorders would be a lot less prevelant if the media didn't force the "Twiggy" image on todays kids. From my own personal perspective, I'd rather hold a woman with some meat on her bones than a plastic boobed, peroxide blond.

I think a lot of my interests in looking at porn originated in what we saw first. For me it was in the late 70's.

I still remembering finding one of my dad's sex mags. It featured slightly chubby (by today's standards, but then a #2 pencil might be too) women and guys. If I remember right, it had only a smattering of color photos beyond the cover. It showed full pubes on women and guys with no erections. The photos coupled with the storyline didn't seem so contrived. There was no silicone anywhere to be found. Outside of the fashions that they wore in the first few pics, they still look like people we'd see today.

Private have pretty much their entire printed archive available on their site though a lot of the stuff appears litterally to be scans of a copy of the magazine making reading the articles (of which there are a lot more in the older stuff) pretty much impossible.

Given that they started in 1968 there is a pretty good section of stuff from the 70's and 80's especially. Its interesting in its own right just to see how "hardcore porn" has evolved in the past 30 odd years from natural women to todays predeliction of having a standard photoset of 1 girl inevitably being nailed by two guys and finishing off with a facial.

Don't think the difference is anticipation vs. not, or different degrees of explicitness. The newer stuff is clinical and odd. Real life never presents one with the magnification and extreme angles one is given, never mind the holding apart of labia so one can see into the woman's body.
