just curious.

We have certian musical groups that we represent as the epitmy or the staemnt group of a culture.

cooper, manson, that other fellow for the dark goth culture.

beatles, monkeys beegees, baby boomers

wierd al, mackenzie broithers for the insane nuts

are the villiage people they homosexaul statement group?

No. And I don't really think there are any music groups that are definitive of a subculture. The subculture defines the music groups.

The village people are not representative of homosexuals any more than Ellen Degeneres is. Homosexuals are their own people.

This is what seems to be an attempt to stick people into stereotyped pigeon holes. Generalisms are only hypotheses that need experimentation.

Oh come on Killer Muffin surely you would accept that Hymns are the representational music of the chirstian subculture

Again as usual Lavender assumes she knows what I am thinking and what I am.

No, Todd, I would not. There is no representational music. Why? There are far too many differences in the individuals in the subculture. Gregorians chant. Methodists don't sing. Baptists are effusive in their musical praise. Lutherans are sedate in theirs. You cannot assign an anthem to a group of people who haven't assigned the anthem to themselves first. The United States Anthem is the The Star Spangled Banner and you can call that representative of Americans because the Americans declared that to be so.

You are going the wrong direction with this, Todd.

Not to mention you're seeking to do something that's impossible. Categorize human beings with a medium that doesn't suit as a category.

what is the definitive homosexual lifestyle?

straight-acting? camp? hugely effeminate?

what is the definitive lifestyle for any *group*???? let alone the musical style

dont pin people down (not unless they provide the cuffs for you first ;)

to me the definitive of the homosexual lifestyle is not really any of those, but could possibly in some realm have some of those.

to me homosexuality is a inhibitional release of the bondage that keeps straights straight.

and to me villaige people in some strange way sort of inhibitionally released the bonds of the normal style of music, breaking barriers. I guess in essence bbeetles did, kurt kobain did, elvis did. maybe i am just confusing the matters. It hink Killer Muffin gave the definitive answer.

Todd when are you gonna accept that some things just happen, and don't have a universal consperacy behind it?

*sigh*
i tried really hard to no be offended by this post... but i just couldn't manage it.

i don't think homosexuals are trying to make a statement. i think they are just trying to live and love in a way that makes them happy, just like anyone else.

There should be no categories

I listen to Marylin Manson (I've seen him live), Weird Al Yankovic, The Beatles and when I'm drunk I might dance to the Village People (among others)

Does this mean I'm an insane-baby booming-gothic gay man?

I don't think so

I give up

I already said Killer Muffin Was right.

I was just throwing out a bone, I was getting tired of the 40 you fuck me, i fuck you snuggle snuggle threads that were on the boards.

I just wanted some diveristy here tonight.

Sorry

Homo-erotic = red hot chilli peppers?

I answered in the form of a question even!
