Dawn of Conquest

The Celts Led my ScarredSoul82
The Asians Led by RoneLith
The Vikings Led by Asterion28

The War Gods wish to see which race has the mightest warriors...So they have exhiled you to a sunken world. There are 110 islands including three you call home. There are many smaller ones and great monsters that prowl the seas in between (whales, great sharks). Your warrior spirit calls you to build, fight, trade, and explore.

The two extras you were each promised....

To the Vikings...one Ocean Going Dragon Longboat....(dragon head bolsters moral)

The second extra is a family of craftsmen that have found there way to your shores....They make Longbows (Welsh)

To the Asians....A family of gifted blacksmiths that can produce Katanas quickly that are still very deadly.

The second extra is a house of geisha women...beautiful but cunning who live in a teahouse. These women (50 but they can train peasant women). Can act as both Assassin and diplomat.

To the celts receive a temple to the sungod with one priest.

The second extra is 30 Amazon female mercenaries...barefoot, leather armor with spears, bows, throwing axes, swords..(payed ever 6 months in lifestock, gold, or young boys and girls)

The Viking start position...

You know little of the islands about you and just as little about your home island. There are rumors of other Viking tribes to the East perhaps two...

Your village is in poor shape after your return. You only have the 50 warriors you returned with...elite veteran fighters and sailors though. The village is filled with 200 women and 300 children 60/40 boy/girl....

The huts and workshops are in poor repair but can easily be rebuilt and up and running soon.

There is also a group of headhunters not far from your home village...lite but very violent infantry. Stone and wood weapons not metal.

There is much good oak to build with....

You have a fortified farm that you call home and there is a family shrine.

The Asians

Since you have become chief warrior much has changed. Most of the residents (standard start package) reside within the walls of the main temple though the temple is not finished yet (walls of wood).

The people have interest in the new religion but still need earthly direction.

To the South there are know tribes of Asians. There is some trade, but little other contact.

Asian pirates raid often and your people are in the main compound out of a need for shelter and protection. Ever two weeks 3 war junks carrying some three hundred armed sailors raid and take what they want.

Many orange trees growing nearby can provide a good source of food.

You live in your father's stone house on a hill in the large compound within its wood and earth walls.

The Celts....

You are the new tribal leader of a strong but brutal tribe. They need conquest and more farm land. There are rivals within your tribe who wish to challenge you if you do not commit to action.

Your village is on the sandy beaches near a bay. To the north through the wildreness you know of one celt tribe at least the size of yours controlled by a witch.

A tribe of savages that worship bears and wear there skins have been know to raid and kill.

A daughter of a friend has found large chunks of gold in a nearby river.

A large warhall built by sea raiders long ago is where you call home. A stable and farm built around it.

OOC There are you respective starting positions.

additions.

Options I forgot a few...

Spy (have a group or person in mind)
Harvest (tree,mine, crops...etc)

"The raiders have to be delt with sir," his aid said.

"They come in and take all the food they want, we must find a way to stop them." Another said.

He looked at his friends and sighed. It was true, the raiders had just left taking with them much of the food. He needed more men to defend against them or at least better men to train his men. Though he wanted peace for all, he knew that only a fool lets someone take what then want.

Diplomacy
"Very well," he said finally. "Send our Geisha's with two gaurds to the neiborhing villages and see if we can gain them to our cause. We a message that if they help us we will help them from the raiders as well. We just need to stand up to them and I belive that they will cease comming to our shores.

Explore
"Also, I want a small detatchment of our troops to explore the surrounding areas that are unknown to us. Tell them to be peacefull and kind to anyone they might meet, we are looking for friends here not enemies.

Harvest
"Get the farmers back into the field and lets see if we cant replace the food we lost.

"How long until the temple is finished?"

TURN ENDED

And so it begins...

Olaf stands before the villagers surrounding his farm house. He addresses them: "My friends, we must first above all, defend and rebuild what we have left. First, the bell tower to sound the alarm should the headhunters attack, and to aid with this, I am posting around the clock guards at both entrances to the village as well as a small patrol. This will take ten men."
He then gave instruction regarding the rebuilding of the major structures in the village, as primative as they are.
Olaf himself was to take charge in building a new workshop for their Welsh brethren, to enable them to make their long bows. A number of men and women were to log the oak in the nearby forest for this purpose. Stone is sufficient for the moment, but supplies wont last. The docks and grain storage facilities are to be rebuilt, as well as the weapon workshop. The rest of the men, women that are able and children that are of an age to be of help are to rebuild the homes that were either destroyed or damaged.
"Friends, this will all take time, but, we will get through this process if we stick together as one. We are a family. If we are to survive we must not only defend ourselves against the savages, but we must eliminate their presence. However, in our vulnerable position, we must first rebuild... May the gods be with us"

It was Spring, and the Goddess had been gracious to them sparing most of her people from illness and death during the long winter. But there was much preparation to be done. They still had the Autumn's harvest to plant and tend to, and territory to acquire. Calliean had turned her interests to the East this winter, pondering on the difficulties surrounding the conquest of the neighboring tribe led by the witch Gilanna. Gilanna was as old as she was powerful, Calliean's tribe had been waiting for years for the old bat to croak and leave behind all the riches of her tribe.
But Calliean was tired of waiting....it was time for war.

Diplomacy

Calliean sat in her bedchambers attended to by two of the tribe's novice priestesses who were preparing her for the Spring Rites when a knock sounded on the heavy oak door...

"Enter!" She beckoned, and a tall woman with raven hair cut short, piercing blue eyes, her long muscled figure clad in leather armor.

The woman bowed her head slightly, "Lady Calliean, I am Lida from the Amazon tribe to the South we recieved your message and found your offer very attractive. Including myself I have brought 30 strong Amazon warriors to your call and we would be honored to serve a woman such as you who has also answered the call of the Goddess."

She smiled as the young priestesses weaving flowers into her hair looked on in awe at this towering woman.
"I thank you for coming Lida. Truly the Goddess has shown us great favor in bringing you and your women to us safely. As stated in my message you and your warriors shall be paid every six months in whatever currency you see fit-gold, livestock, grain....and as a bonus for your swift arrival you will also be entitled to a cut of whatever riches we acquire during our conquests. In addition to all that we bid you to make yourselves welcome in our halls, share our food, our wine, and our men. Welcome to our tribe."

Explore

Lida had just departed when another knock, another interruption sounded on the door.
"Enter!" She beckoned, and this time a short willowy girl with long red hair and green eyes entered clutching a small bundle wrapped in tartan.
"Elia? What do you have there?"
The girl knelt before her feet and placed the bundle into Calliean's outstretched hands, "I found it in the river m'Lady while I was collecting water for tonight's banquet. It was everywhere..."
Calliean warily unwrapped the bundle, uncertain of what lay inside...but she was plesantly suprised by its contents...
"Gold.." she breathed as it glimmered in the candlelight.
"You've done very well Elia, now go take some others with you and gather as much of this as you can before dark. You will all be well rewarded for your actions, especially you my dear" she kissed the top of the girl's brow, "with your eagle's sight. A gift from the Goddess!"

Harvest

Oblivious to the actions occuring inside the great house the farmers of the village prepared the fields for the year's harvest, as well as setting up the area for the Spring Rites where the High Priestess and leader of the tribe Lady Calliean would become the earthly vessel for the Goddess and mate with the earthly embodiment of the Horned God who would be a random Druid and their seed would fertilize the fields and ensure a bountiful harvest.

And I'll stop there for now.

First turn results.....(You all have been busy)

OOC: Sorry it is taking so long to get back to you all, but the beginning of the week was busy. I like what I have read and all I ask is that you continue to submitt in an orderly fashion. Paragraphs with what type of order it was that was issued. Turns are roughly two weeks in game time. So be realistic with what you want done...not to say things won't be ongoing. The Great Wall or a beerhall worthy of Odin will not be finished in two weeks. Otherwise I like what I read. Questions or anything I have missed please pm me....I know some editing needs to be done.

Dealing with the Sea raiders

Diplomacy

I]Your Banner with the Dragon reaching for the sky on a green background soon goes past the horizon...[/I]

Most of the villages are roughly three days march away and your Geishas and guards head out at the begining of the week and return near the end of the week.

The Southwestern Village replies first. Since they are on the coast they agree though the raiders don't come often they don't just take food but slaves as well. They promise to send 100 archers with bows and short swords in about a week. In a show of goodwill they have given you a gift of a Panda bear in a cage. The Noble Kim is with you....He said in a letter to you, "we will send these pirate dogs to hell together my friend. I send what I can and promise more for the battle. I do not trust Tran and I am wary of the Vikings."

In the center of the island talks do no go as well. They do not see the problem as theirs and what's more even hint you make a good buffer. They have sent your party away and have closed their gates to even trade. Your Geisha noticed the building of a large armory building, and a market place filled with ivory. Tran the Cruel is no friend.....

The third village in the southeast you fair better. Unlike the other two villages of asians this is a Viking colony lost to its home island. Your Geisha finds them to be dirty, smelly, and war like. They have a boatyard and every farm has a forge cabable of making farm tools and weapons. The elders there pledge 400 heavy round shield warriors and their leader Ivan the Red will ride and be with his troops soon. The Geisha Ritsu mentions," of the spoils from this battle they have expressed their desire for at least one of the ships. Also perhaps a more formal treaty in the future."

Explore

The troops depart to the west and all points unknown. They push to the west coast mapping all the way. They build a redoubt and post your flag and sent back a runner. Among the notes you read are many different tree types, animals including a large bison creature which dangerous but a good source of meat. They wait orders....

Harvest

Soon fruit pickers are out in force and oranges are soon in the market place and storehouses. Some of the farmers think the rice patties can be enlarged if irrigation is improved. Work on that is started and will be finished in three weeks. It promises to double food output.

Advice....

Your military advicer would like to fight the raiders with archers and heavy infantry to have the advantage against the pirates. He also wants a shore wall of rocks built near the beach.

Other villagers demand education for their children....

OOC married? family?

Vikings

Building

The sound of hammers is heard throughout the village from dawn to dusk. Since the longbow is going to give a great advantage the workshop of the fletcher is first to be completed. Women help do much of the building as your warriors take time to work and perform guard duty. For the watch tower which goes up the first week is built from 4 huge oaks.

The village wall is repaired as well as the docks so your ship properly. The granery is rebuilt so now you know how much food you have available (three months worth). Soon the weapons workshops are up and running as well. Finally your people sleep in repaired huts. This means better farming and crafts. The children are happy to see their fathers again as are the wives. You are are hailed as a savior.

The raiders have yet to be spotted but a large heard of dear are from the tower. It provides a welcome source of food and hides as well as helps in the training of many young boys. An old Viking named Erik comments," they will make good warriors in a months time."

Celts

Diplomacy

Lida smiles at the young priests as you speak but you can easily tell she does not miss a word.

"Gold we will conquest. In 6 months time we will be payed. I will let you know whether it be in land or weapons in 3 months time. We go to war soon so we will eat and drink with you, but will not lay with your men....We only keep little girls so we will give al celtic sons to you to raise." She gives you full honor in her salute then head for the door then turns. You notice her boots are of deer skin with leather laces and she wears a bear skin as a cloak.,

"Where are to sleep in the halls with your people?"

Explore

Elia looks up at you with glee and scampers off...."thank you"..she cries as she runs into the street gather other boys and girls her age.

By that evening many wicker baskets are brought to you in your mainhall to be counted.

A scribe studies and weighs them and reports, " Ah there is 10 baskets worth of gold here we can make many bars if we had a gold smith."

Elia cheerfully pipes in as the scribe finishes. "There is much more left if we only take alittle each day." She and her brother and others are sweaty and dirty but are proud of a day's work.

Harvest

The farmer perpare the fields in a mixture of ritual and hard work. It is reported that the fields maybe enlarged some without surrounding the village. The priest at the temple perpares a site for the mating ritual near the feilds. A ring of stone and flowers planned. Ruins are drawn on nearby trees and special prayers are said. You are told within the next weeks time would be best for the ritual.

Second turns.....

Ready when you are....start with the results of what has happen.....For the Asians I believe there it a possible attack soon....? For the Vikings your infurstructure is up and running what do you want to do with it? The celts have several options.

The game continues....and with open slots.

second turn

Olaf, wanders around his, so far, peacful village enjoying the sights and sounds of his people at rest. It has been a hard time. He watches the children playing with wooden swords and axes, and looks back into his own childhood and remembers...

A village meeting is called...

SPY

"My friends, it is time. We can no longer wait for the savages to attack. We cannot risk the lives of our women and children. We must take action. As yet we do not know much about them, so we must sent out spies to gather information. We need to know not only how many there are, but how well trained, how armoured and indeed how well armed they are. Also to see if they have any tools, weapons or resources thay may be of use to us. To this end, i am sending 2 men on this dangerous mission. As there are not too many single men left in the village and I dont not want to create any more widows, I have had to choose carefully."

HARVEST

"The deer are still being hunted and truly are a gift from the gods themselves, however this will not last forever my friends. We need to start farms and grow crops. Also we need to look after the few domestic animals that we have left here, so fences to keep predators away will be built."

TRAIN

"Some of the children are becoming of an age where they will be useful in the defence of our village, so they will start their training in the use of the weapons that we have. Which reminds me, our fletchers have begun their work in making longbows. The children obviously will not be able to be trained in the use of this until they are tall enough."

(romance?)

Later as he stands on the docks and looks longingly out to see, a young woman walks up to him, stands beside him, not speaking a word. Her long hair drifting gently in the sea breeze. She gently slips her hand into his...

OOC: I will work on the second turn shortly...(good use of orders this turn.)

Anyway will give another option though it ususally blends with the rest.

Roleplay

This covers if you want to talk with someone, commission something made special for yourself, craft with your own hands...etc. Think of it as the personal things your character does. Though this option will be very useful when you encounter other players.

Delighted to hear that two of the three surrounding villages had responded favorably, Ryutetsuo sits in his chambers determining his next move.

Train

Many of his men have no good knowledge with the bow and should the archers being sent shall be a great help. Half of his warriors should be sufficient to learn and teach others. Plus some of his workers should be trained to make them and develop newer and stronger arrows and bows. The other half need to train with the viking warriors in the use of infantry warfare. Asking their leader might prove to be helpful.

Build

Workers shall start on building a shore wall. Once again he will ask the Viking leader to help with building stronger defences for the temple.

Explore

All troops out on exploration missions are ordered to return home for the comming attack.

Turn ENDED

OOC: I apologize for vanishing briefly I've been sick but I'm better now :)

Diplomacy

The Amazons were placed in the women's quarters with the other unmarried women.

In the meantime, Caillean decided it was time to make a treaty with the neighboring tribe of wild men. They would make good soilders in her army as they seemed skilled in guerilla warfare and knew the lay of the land. She decides to send a group of young maidens along with some of the Amazon women as well as one of her political advisors to the men along with a few blocks of gold to negotiate a meeting of tribes. She hopes all will go well.

Training

Some of the remaining Amazon women begin to train some of the villagers in the art of war, archery, swordplay, etc...Their routine is rigorous and begins at sunrise five days a week, many of them are starting to show some natural talent.

The local blacksmith is training as a goldsmith (see below)

Explore

The children continue to collect the gold from the riverbed, the local blacksmith is training as a goldsmith in order to convert the lumps into bars for currency.

While many of the young men of the tribe explore the surrounding woods for the best hunting grounds.

Build

Many of the villagers begin building a new Great Hall for formal functions and meetings.

Others work to build an armory and to build shelter for the animals they wish to begin domesticating in the future.

Harvest

The seeds have been planted in the fields and the time for the Spring Rites is almost upon them. Caillean awaits anxiously to mate with this year's Horned God to ensure the prosperity of her people.

Spy

A young boy has been sent towards the witch's tribe...his clothes are torn and dirty, he appears to have been attacked by some sort of wild beast and has gone for days without food.
This boy volunteered for the mission and Caillean hopes that he will be able to provide ample information about the infastructure of the other tribe.

TURN ENDED.

OOC expect a reply to all of your writings....I am pleased and your all thinking out your turns well.

Keep up the good work....and feel free to ask questions.

No need to apologize I am glad your well and back in the game.....

Alot has happen in turn two.....

RESULTS OF TURN TWO...

The Vikings....

At the town meeting it is disgusted the idea of training scout troops but for now two of your very few warriors are sent to spy on the immediate enemy.

Spy report

Many miles to the east the head hunters make camp on a piece of land with water on three sides. They have huts and dugouts (large enough to hunt wales). The warriors which number over 100 are dark haired and never without their spears (primative asian tribesmen). Head of what look like vikings are displayed on posts around the village.

Lars spits out his water at the well where he reporting to you, "barely escaped with our lives. Oh they keep slaves as well."

Harvest

Once again hammers are heard in your small town. A simple but effective fence is built to keep in your sheep and cows. Women use oxen to plow the fields. They will be ready in time for planting wheat. You still have meat in your granary, but it should be counted on only as an extra to feed the whole village could exhaust the supply.

Training

The town meeting reminds that many have learned much. The girls all have been doing farm work filling in the gap in labor. The boys the few that there are should make good potential warriors according to Erik. Your warriors do train with the new weapon sharing until 50 are made. Proof that training has worked is the two dead wolves brought to the mainhall that warriors killed with the bows along the fence line the protects the live stock.

Roleplay

Astrid daughter of a warrior that died during a raid has taken a liking to you....She has long red hair and has learned to become a skilled carpenter. She smiles at you often when you walk by her workshop/hut.

The village meeting does give off the feeling that something has to be done about the headhunters

Random events....

A Roman Galley is sited from the bay but continues on....

Rumors of a Viking "Empire" to the west.

The Asians

Training

With the arrival of the 100 warriors from the Noble Kim they start to train your warriors and pray at the main temple. There are few bows to go around even in training and Kim's merchant and your master weapon's smith say even average bows will not be ready by next attacks. Though there are enough Katana's for all your warriors. The Vikings with Ivan the Red at their head march to your aid and pitch tents near your village. There are easily 400 heavy infantry troops not counting followers (smiths, scribes whores) arrive. Your men soon learn the shield and the ax which are new and improve their skills with spears.

Kim's captain and Ivan both wihs to have a council of war to discuss strategy and spoils. The banners of the Panda and Redclaw are in your camp.

Building

With your allies there more peasants are free to work on the shore wall. Rocks are pilled to make a wall 4' tall around the whole bay from left to right on the hills above the sandy beach. The vikings refuse to aid in work on a temple not of their god, but offer you the option to convert.

Explore

Your troops heardly return to your home village but have not returned empty handed. The have a fair map of the region.

A young woman comes running into the village one night. She was picking berries and claims to have seen the sails of a large war junk....Only one ship and it was heading away. Perhaps a scout?

Random

A bear the "size of hut " was seen in the woods.

Many think it is odd that you do not have wife and no child to take your place....

The Celts

Diplomacy

The Amazon seem to fit into your tribe well enough. They seem to enjoy the company of other women more and often can be seen teaching little girls the way of the sword and bow. Lida often sits in council with you.

Your party of young maidens and mercenaries go to meet the more wild celtic men. The neogiations seem to come to an impass but not all is lost. Lars their chief takes the gold but sends back with the party 8 bear skins for you and promises to come and meet with you in two weeks time personally.

Training

The Amazons refuse to train men in the dealy arts but your women are learning quickly. The old warriors are soon putting the army through the paces. Soon your warriors know how to lock shields and use spears in squares. Still though your warriors are wild and are quick to break formation and hack away at an enemy with a longsword.

Your master smith is slowly learning the art of goldsmithing. Soon there will be mold for bars. Jewelry wil take much longer.

Explore

Expanding your knowlege of the area is profitable. Game and gold continue to come to your store house and granry. Deer, geese, and even a bison is brought into camp. Elia being the natural adventure has also found a grove of berry bushes.

Building

The great hall work continues as wood carvings are made to appease the gods. The work is slow since so much timber is needed.

The Armory work also continues. It is built from stone and is near the blacksmith's shop. The structure you requested for keeping live stock is finished though. It is a large structure with plenty of room, and a fenced in area around it.

Harvest

Your priest does report to you, "next week the stars will be right for the ritual. You should select a man that has not yet been with a woman and has yet to kill a man."

Spy

The boy is gone for more then two weeks when you get an answer...not the one you wanted though. The boy's mutilated body is found hanging from a tree. Fang mark's a signature of Gilanna's personal touch are found on the neck. His mother crying takes the boy's bloodied body to the temple. The next day no children wish to go to the river for gold. Angry is in the air now. You could not put off war if you wanted to now....

Random events...

The are rumors of a race of builders and slavers to the west.

A peasant boy playing on the beach finds a silk banner badly washed out by salt water, but seems to depict a sun on it.

Harvest

The time has come for the Spring Rites. The fires burn high in the night sky as the full moon rises, bathing the fields in pale light.
The incense is lit, smelling of rich musks and amber, while the bodies of the participants are rubbed in a similar smelling oil, their naked bodies glistening in the firelight.

A procession of maidens lead their veiled leader to the edge of the woods, where a lone male figure stood his broad naked chest glistening with oil, the familiar features of his face hidden behind a ferocious horned mask.

The veil fell, revealing Caillean in her full glory and the hunt began.
The pair dashed through the trees his heart pounding and loins aching as he pursued her.
The path they ran eventually led back to the fields where he finally caught her, pushing her down onto a bed made of soft moss and flowers, the weight of their bodies pressing the sweet scent out of the buds.
And as their bodies joined, the people let out a great cry of joy and began to feast as the mated pair headed back into the forest to cleanse themselves in the sacred spring.

Explore

The day after the rites Elia meets with Caillean to discuss her findings...

"M'lady, exploration of the nearby territories has been highly profitable. We've discovered more gold, an abundance of wild game, as well as a berry patch."

"Well done Elian, you and your family shall be rewarded for your noble efforts."

The girl was dismissed and Caillean began to talk with her advisors about the possible uses of the recent finds. The berries could be used for food, for winemaking, even to dye cloth. The animals could be used for food. This area was turning out to be very profitable for the tribe.

Rumours had reached her ears of a tribe of builders and slavers to the West. They were rumoured to be many in number and she wished to be prepared for whatever lay ahead. She would send a small band to the west to see what information they could gather about this mysterious group...(see Spy)

A tattered banner had also been brought her her attention, but she knew less about this than about the people to the West so this matter would be attended to later.

Diplomacy

Caillean is eager to meet with Lars and is thrilled with the gifts of the bear skins. She takes two for herself and gives some to the Amazons, the rest she gives to those in need of warmth. These will be a great help sheilding them from the cold nights.

Relations with the Amazons are good for the moment. Caillean spends a great deal of time with Lida, learning about the Amazon's culture. Caillean respects the Amazon's decisions not to train the men, and is excited at the prospect of an elite team of female warriors.

Training

Caillean begins to personally train some of the villiagers in the art of war to prepare for upcoming battles. The men are slow learners...but the women who have been training with the Amazons are becoming skilled warriors. She hopes that their respect and fear of her will help keep them in line when the time comes to fight.

She has the blacksmith divide his time between training himself as a goldsmith and training a few apprenticies in the art of blacksmithing so that they can begin to stock the Armory.

Spy

Caillean grieves for the loss of the boy...and lights ceremonial fires in his honor. She knows now that war is inevitable and pushes her troops to train harder to prepare for war.

Building

Work on the Great Hall is halted for the time being, half of the workers are sent to train as soliders, while the rest begin work on a perimeter wall to protect the village from invasion. Once the villiagers become proficient with weapons they will be sent to assist the building of this wall.

END TURN

One good turn so far. Battle approaches? What is there in the west. Tribes to be united? Much left to happen. More to come....

((my turn shall be to the point I am in a rush and want to finish this quickly so basically I will just take a turn without much roleplay))

SPY

The Ship is a nusance and might be the raiders, send some men to keep watch on it.

TRAIN

Continue with the training.

BUILD

After completion of the wall send peasants into the woodier areas to collect wood to carve bows.

DIPLOMACY

Convene war council with Kim and Ivan to discuss strategy.

(I wonder if there might be something to do with Science's? Such as improveing irrigation, buildings and the like.)

END TURN

Welcome a new player.....

An Egyptian noble woman joins our game....As like the rest she has in her village

100 Soldiers
(heavy Infantry Led by 1 captain with horse)
100 Militia
(lite infantry led by 1 captain with horse)
500 Peasants
(of your culture and can be used for most purposes. Can start any civilian job right way. Seamenship and Military jobs take special training.)
Basic buildings of a village (homes, food storage areas, village walls, boat docks, town hall, temple and work shops)

The two extras you receive are....

A Harem of 40 pleasure girls that dance and are able with the bloade to protect themselves.

The other extra is a grainship. It is ocean going and capable of carrying a month's worth of grain for a village.

The Egyptians find themselves on a lush island though isolated. The jungles on the edge of the village are filled with strange and dangerous animals.

Many of the peasants spend their days working on the Pyramid for the current Pharod who spends his days hunting and fishing.

There is much potential for the village to grow and expand but that has not been the case. Though no formal exploring has been done it is clear that your not alone on this island.

She will submitt this turn and get the results like the rest of you.......sorry for any delay.

VIKINGS...waiting to hear from you buddy. Your playing well.

Neferti rises to see that her father has yet again left to hunt in the boar's race, having forgotten that they were to entertain the caravan leaders. No matter she would have her dancers do so until he arrived again.

Harvest

Leaving to do her daily errands she met with her steward. Having to report the fruits of their labor. The peasant women were going making wheat and straw to make bricks for the men to build the great temple for the priests. it was going to be the village's largest temple. So great, that the gods would have to bless them.

Diplomacy & Explore

Seeing that the caravans have arrived Neferti dresses to appeal and makes do with her father's dissaperance. she leads the caravan leaders to their great hall. "Please make yourself comfortable, father is out in the great forest.. a boar has been plagueing the women that pick the herbs, so he went to hunt it down. "

Gesturing to the many platters of fruit, meat, cheese, and bread, she tells them. "I hope my hospitality will be to your liking." claping her hands as three dancers from her school arrive dressed in the wonderful costumes. She says, ".. as well as our entertainment. Our Village has much to offer you, and we hope you all will come to visit us more often. Together we can both prospere " Flashing her most alluring smile she bows to them leaves them to finish her other errands.

Thinking to herself as she left, that she would talk to father about inviting the other leaders, perhaps an alliance could be formed, and we could strengthen the village.

Training

She walks into she school of Arts. Dancing arts that is. Her dancing School. It was one of the things she took most pride in. This school of Dancing was for peasant women that wanted to better their earnings, by learning the art of the Dance of Veils. She offerred openings to many of the officials of their village to train some of their slaves here for a price. It was a most prosperous endevour.

She considered making it open to many other village leaders. Whether they wished to procure one of her dancers or whether they wished to send their slaves here. She would speak of this to her father, It would surely make her Father's Village prospere.

Finishing her rounds she went over to the captain's quarter's and spoke to him, "Is there anything we need? I wanted to hear of the shifts in over the wall gates. We are hoping to get more caravans to come and trade with us. I would like to make we are well prepared should anything go wrong and if there is anything that is needed do send word to me."

Building

Looking over the village from the wall Neferti could see that the Temple was well under way, by the Harvest it should be complete. Thinking they should hold a celebration and she would dance for the many leaders that would arrive, her being the most accomplished dancer in the village it was a treat when she danced. This would advertise for her school.. Smiling, the temple would surely bring more visitors to her village, to more visitors , the more her merchants well profit, and the more they profit , the more her villlage would grow.

apologies all, here it is...

Lars walks into Olaf's smithy shop to find him pounding away on a piece of steel. "what are you making?" asks Lars
"Its a new sword. I'm making it form a better steel I've discovered.Over there is something im working on. I'm trying to design a piece of armour that fits over the chest."

Harvest

A few of the women are sent into the local forest with an armed escort to search for berries, nuts etc. to help ease any burden on food supplis until the grain is harvested.

Training

Continues with some of the seasoned warriors taking the oldest of the boys out hunting. They are learning the ways of the sailor too.

Spy

The villagers meet together to discuss what is to be done about the savages..
Olaf speaks.."My brothers, we cannot fight effectively if we rush in as we are. We must use every little advantage we have. They are surrounded by water..let's use it. They have slaves, lets use that as well. Can we make a surprise attack through the passage? or do we swim and attack from all sides at once?
Will the slaves fight with us, rebelling against their masters?
These are our advantages. Plus, there will be another. I am making a new sword. Longer, stronger and sharper that what we have now. All it's going to take is a little time to make enough. To help me with this task, I wil need to take on an apprentice"

Thats it for now..

Later tonight you will hear the turn results....everyone is making good moves so more thought has been required which work hasn't given me lately. Now back to normal......you will enjoy it once updated.

Better Late then never....

OOC As per request from now on another option is available to players.
Research and development...It allows you to come up with improvements and start to develop new ideas.

IC: Turn Three

The Celts

The Harvest

The ritual was necessary if not very enjoyable. You have blushed many times and the next day sleep longer out of being tired from the nights pleasure.

Though no result can be seen right away of coarse, but moral is good. The villagers feel secure in the thought that the harvest will be a good one and begin working the land.

Adam...an older farmer promises double yield if he can clear more trees for growing. Though a druid should do a ritual first he warns.

Many of the small children are enjoy rabits caught in the area as pets. Though some have ended up on the tables of a few lucky house holds.

Though Elia refuses to give up her little fury friend.

Though wine production is a long way off the berriers picked are a welcome source of food at all tables.

The game killed and skinned provides a good source of food and warm skins. The hunting is also good for the training of the young warriors.

Explore

The Sun banner has not been seen even by some of the oldest members of the tribe. You have nothing like the silk as well.

A band of warriors you wish to scout for the city of slavers and builders prepares to head out filling packs with supplies and repairing weapons. Many women in the village cry as they see the pary disapear over the horizon the West.

Diplomacy

The Amazons are a tribe among yours but know much. They speak and write both Greek and Latin both languages foreign to you but they have learned through mercenary routes.

One day as you train wearing your bear skin in the cold evening air with Lida. You both dual about with spears as strangers walk into town escorted by your guards.

There are 12 men all mounted on beautiful brown horses. The all wear bear skins and have long swords. One with detailed body paint and towering over the others dismounts and walk to you......

He has long blond hair and piercing blue eyes and except for the bear skin, neckles of teeth, boots of fur, and a lion cloth he is dirty and naked.

He looks to you and nods, " You are Caillean? I am Lars. Your people say you wish to speak of uniting Celts and living in peace? I am here to listen." He smiles at you...."You liked my gift."

Training

The villigers are not warriors yet but they could be counted on to hold their own in a fight and not run away in a fight.

Lida and others have said, "they are not an army of conquest but warrior that will die protecting their farmers and the farmers of their neighbors.

Some gold bars have been made while the other young smiths have been able to produce spears and arrows. Basic but very important.

Spy

The parents are thankful for the fire to remember their child. There is talk of revenge in battle but many still fear the witch.

Your party sent to the west has not been heard from yet. Though Lars said they past through his domain a week ago and traded for food.

Building

The great hall is left uncomplete while work changes. Your peasant are tired from the constant work and training. The village wall is slow to come up but the 12' logs are good at protecting the village. You find your wall 1/4 done.

Asians

Spy

Your men posted near the bay soon return running to your house one night. A trusted guard screams at your door, "The pirates come now with 5 junks...filled with pirates and conscripts from other villages. We must prepare...they will be on us in days (begining of next turn)."

Training

Your warriors improve with every day. Thought they lack experience they are well drilled. Formations are not sloppy but solid and every spear thurst is straight.

Build

The bay wall of stone is nothing special but complete. I will be good enough for the fight that will come soon. Soon axes are heard in the woods.

Diplomacy

The council of war goes well. You all three seem to be willing to work with each other. All troops will rally at the wall and rain arrows on the enemy as they charge up the hill. Then engage in melee combat.

The Egyptians

Harvest

The peasant women are soon turning out bricks for the temple. They are solid and though not as big as the cut stones the will make a fine temple.

At dinner with your father......he disagrees and wants you to begin work on his prymid.

Diplomacy & Explore

The leaders and merchants that come to trade seem to enjoy your company. Some merchants even hint that they wish to spend more time with you discussing business in a more "intimate" setting. They do enjoy your women though and trade goes well.

One merchant gives you the gift of a small monkey that is black and white. He is playful and enjoys running about your room eating fruit.

Your father asks you how much in taxes been collected.

Training

Many beautiful girls from your village fill the dance school. Many from a young age are sent and a seperate area is open for slaves. Merchants that have agreed to make you part of their trade route promise business in the future.

The school has turned a profit, and many peasant girls would rather dance then work in the fields.

On visting your captain's quarters you find him out training with his horse. He is surprised that a woman would care about the army but speaks frank with you....."The soldiers need armor. Bare flesh or leather is little defense. We have few that can make it here in the village. We can defend the village but little else. The merchants that visit brag of huge armies at their villages."

Your father is angried as you eat and comments that a woman should have no use for a sword. That night he beds one of your youngest dancers.

Building

Work on the temple continues at an increased pace thanks to the fresh source of supplies. The walls are up and ther roof as well. The front steps and the interior are what manly need to be finished. Statues are being worked on at a workshop nearby.

Since the merchants are of the same faith they promise pilgrams will come once it is complete.

The Vikings...

Personal Project

The new steel (the smith has come up with a better method of producing it) makes for a fine blade. The armor is taking longer but the smith assures you that something strong then chainmail can be made.

Harvest

Your search in the woods does not turn up what your looking for but still is a worthy effort. A small group of apple trees are found. Perhaps they can be grown in greater numbers?

Training

The yougn strong boys learn well under the guidance of your warrior elite. Soon the will be strong but lack of experience cannot be made up for by training. All take turns on your one ship and are becoming familiar with the ways of the sea.

Spy

There is much debate but many consider raiding on the ship and striking at dawn would be best though risky. If you lose you lose all including the ship. These savages cannot be allowed to survive. The next day many young men wait by your workshop.

Amendment to the last turn....

Just some stuff that might help you all that I meant to include. You can include this with your next turns......hope to hear from you all soon. I like turning the game.

Celts

A barefoot and dirty woman comes from the woods...you heard she can look to future.

Kayla asks if she can setup residence in your village.

Asians

Prior to the attack animal trainer comes to your village. A mature gray haired asian woman. Naoka has your panda during tricks for oranges within an hour.....

She asks for a hut near the temple.

Vikings

A young norse warrior rides in from across the plains on a mighty warhorse and has a string of 4 others (brown and white warhorses). He wear's chain mail and has a small arsenal of weapons.

Thor would like to start a herd and living in your village.....?

Egyptians

A Greek warrior sails to your dock in a small boat claiming to cross the sea. Jason is tall strong....and carries a impressively long spear and large round shield. His armor is like you have never seen.

He has been exiled and wishes to live and work in your village.

Diplomacy

We grant the animal trainer her request and ask that she take on other tasks as well. Such as horses and the like.

Attack/Rally

As the day of battle approaches all can feel the tension building. Though now well trained he knows that they have never had to battle before. He did not want to have to fight but he knew that without the ability to destory evil it would be a quick and painful life for them all. Patrolls were sent to the wall each day to determine when they would strike. He had endulged the men in a small bit of entertainment to calm them down the panda doing its job. Also he had allowed that every man with a family would be allowed to see them before the final fight if they so wished.
All that was in the past, Ryutetsuo stood ready with his men. Dressed in his battle armor with a katana at his side he watched the ships come closer to the docks.

"This is what we were training for," he said to the men. "For the future protection of your lives and your families lives, let those that stirke us who wish to remain peaceful be delt with swiftly and thoroughly. None shall escape! Death to all those that wish war apon us!"

The men cheered behind them and readied themselvs for when they were in range.

Every person not fighting in the main defense were to create a second defense in the town itself. Should any pirate get through the militia was to make sure they did not come back.

The fight begins!

Diplomacy

After a bit of discussion, thor and his companions are allowed into the village, however, a watchful eye is kept on them for a while. They are asked to help with the preparations for the upcoming attack on the head hunters. Details of their abilities were faily obvious due to the weapons and suchlike they brought in with them. Thor is allowed a pasture for his herd.

Training

Some of the taller boys start to learn how to handle the longbow. This is neccesary if they are to be victorious in the upcoming battle.

Personal Project

Olaf stands before the boys who are lined up in front of is smithy workshop. A simple test is given them. He hands each a hammer and asks each one in turn to pick it up. He watches carefully for the way they grasp the handle. Only two pick it up by the end of the handle, the rest grasp it near the head. Well, looks like he has the task of training two apprentices now...He hands one a broom and the other he shows how to pump the bellows.

Harvest

Apples are gathered, and the people are instructed to save the seeds. A field is set aside and prepared for the planting of the seeds

Weeks later.. Neferti wakes to yet another time when Father has left her to continue his duties.. Sometimes she wondered if she should have been born a man.. AS she made her ritual rounds a servant approaches her about a new comer to the village dressed in unusal garb. She tells the servant, “ Have the captain take him to the palace and then make sure that he is kept comfortable, call one of my special dancers to dance for him, and Make sure that he is well fed. I will attend him after I finish with my rounds..

Harvest:

Noticing that our fields of wheat are being collected now for sustenance instead of being made into bricks, since the temple is nearly completed, it will be only a matter of a fortnight and they will be able to have the festival..

She had the women work on the forests, picking the berries and herbs they would be needing for the upcoming festivals, and they needed to fill their supply should anything happen, such as bad weather and they are unable to venture into the forest daily as they normally would for sustenance supply,

Building:

Seeing that the Temples interior was nearly completed now it was simply the small work and the decorations, interior designing, and writing the ancient tales upon the walls, was still left. She decided now that the larger builders were done they could work leisurely on the pyramid for her father.

She would begin the festival preparations and send her messengers with the caravans to let the neighboring villages know of their temples inauguration.

Training:

She passed her school slowly and watched as the classes were well underway, she noticed her youngest student was not performing well, and called her to speak with her in her office.

“Is there something amiss, you have not been performing well…”

“I am sorry m’lady, I have missed my monthly courses.. I uh,…have been tired of late.. and worried that I will have to stop performing…. If I am to be bearing.

Neferti anger towards her father is once more at a peak.. she would speak of this to her father later.. This did not bode well for him.. Having this been the second student .. promising to be one of her best… having to leave due to the attentions of her father..

Talking to her captain of the guards and told him of the upcoming festival for the temple.

Diplomacy:

Neferti once again entertained the daily caravan leaders, listening to their tales of the nearby villages, giving them invitations to the festival next week and expressed her desire to see them again when they returned to their village.

Roleplay and Explore:

Finally, about midday, finishing her tasks she entered her entertaining room, and clapped her hands twice, the dancer within, stopped dancing immediately and bowed then left through one of the servant exits.. The man sitting on the settee looked up to see Neferti standing there.

Walking in she said, “ I apologize for the wait, I had to run some errands, I hoped the entertainment kept your attentiosn occupied. Now then…” Sitting across from the fellow settling her sarong, she looks up to him and give him her most winsome smile. “May I ask Your name?”

“My name is Jason.”
“What a unique name.. Well Jason… Why have you come here? What do you hope to gain?”

“I come from across the waters. I have been exiled, I come from an Empire that had at one time been the largest. I used to lead there..”

“So, you are a leader yourself then?”

“Wonderful… then why did you have to leave?”

He spoke about why he left and Neferti realizing that this was not a subject he wished to discuss fully she changed the subject.

“tell me what do you wish to do here? Can you tell me of your village from across the sea.. Did you come alone? Are there others?... Is there anyone waitinf for you there?.... I'm sorry I tend to get very excited learing about new places.. you must forgive my bluntness. ..You were a warrior were you not?”

“I am..”

“I would give you our village to stay in, if in return you would help my soldiers and warriors learn new styles of fighting.. we are badly in need of better armor… if I may say .. you could speak to our blacksmiths .. if you could tell them how your armor is made I would be grateful.. what do you say,… Do you accept our invitation into our village.. Do not make your decision hastily, I can give you the tours first you can make a decision then..? What do you say.. and then You can tell me of things you wish for .. as being a member of our village.. we are very friendly people and do not turn anyone in need away.. please feel comfortable and be at peace here..”

Neferti showed Jason around her village and so happily told her dreams of how she hoped her village becomes more prosperous.. and she told him of the temple and hoped that he would enjoy the upcoming festival. When she came to the captain of the guards, she introduced Jason to him, and then asked Jason, “Please if I may .. I have other duties to attend to and I invite to have dinner with my father and I .. it’s a very rare treat when we get a chance to meet with someone new.. I hope that you have a good time with your discussions of training methods and such.”

She turned towards the captain, “Please escort our friend to the palace after you finish discussing with him. Our friend Jason, has much information and training techniques our soldiers can learn.

After dinner with Jason and her father, Neferti had the servants show Jason into a guest room and told him that he could stay there until he decided, Until then Neferti offered her attention, a few hours in each evening .. to ask Jason what he thought of her precious village and what he wanted to do for her village...

As days came closer to the opening of the temple, Neferti had less and less time to spend with Jason and more time, to work on other things, to ready her village for the arrival of visitors, and late in the evenings in the private terrace of her rooms she practiced, for her dace, in the festival.
