In my 28 years on earth, I've already seen more of the world and experienced more then most people in a lifetime. It has now been 4 years since my life completely changed. At the time I was still debating whether or not I'd enroll med school. But then the decision was made for me.
Suddenly on a Friday evening, after I played the lottery for fun, I received an email. I had won...the jackpot of a 150 million euros. At first I thought it was just a spam email, until I read the email and called the phone number. I'd really won.
Then followed a few months of feverishly keeping my newly filled bank account secret and meetings with lawyers and accountants about how to invest my newfound capital. But what concerned me was what I'd do with my future. Being a doctor is still a dream. But maybe I could help in another way with my new fortune.
At first I went to travel. I roadtripped through Europe. I went on a safari tour in Africa. Stayed in the fanciest hotels and slept under the stars on an exotic beach.
All the travelling gave me an idea. I set up a foundation to help young scientists getting their ideas to revolutionise health care of the ground.
I only needed a place to live and work. And on my travels I fell in love with the French Rivièra.
So one of the first things I did after returning home, was buying a large villa on the Côte d'Azur, not far from Saint-Tropez and close to the Mediterranean. The villa had everything you could wish for. Eight bedrooms, ten bathrooms, an infinity pool with a view over the Mediterranean Sea, a stretch of private beach and even a jetty.
And of course I filled my garage with a very nice car collection. I also bought a Riva speedboat to moor at the jetty.
I enjoyed life at the villa, but it got a bit lonely. So this year I got an idea. This summer I am offering two rooms on AirBnb for the first time. This way, ordinary people can experience the life of the 1% without paying too much. As expected, I received a lot of offers and was able to choose who could stay. I let visitors stay for a week. They can choose which car I use to pick them up at the airport and on the last evening I take them to a nice restaurant in the Riva. And for when they want to get around on their own, I bought a Mini Cooper.
What the visitors don't know is that I have had very small cameras installed in the two rooms and associated bathrooms, the kind the CIA would be jealous of. This way I can keep an eye on what's happening and hopefully even more. Especially if I choose the guests well. I try to choose them between 18 and my age and accept couples, but also just friends or groups of friends up to 4 people. Exceptions are always possible.
And that's how I ended up here, driving a Rolls-Royce Spectre to Nice Airport to pick up the first guests.
My travels and my life in France made sure I got a nice tan. And I like keeping myself in shape in the gym at home.
Today I decided to wear a white linnen button down shirt, with the sleeves rolled up and some nice blue shorts.
As I wait in the arrivals terminal, I see my guests approaching...
