I'm a little curious about something. When you see the number of views a story of yours has racked up, does that mean actual, unique views of that particular story? It's just kind of weird for me to think that anything I have written has been viewed over 2,000 times, but that's what it looks like on the website.

It just means that number of people clicked on a URL that led them to your story. Who knows how many people actually read it.

Very good point. It looks like not many actually do read; just as an example one of my stories shows 2,034 hits but only 8 votes.

Relatively few people vote, and even fewer give feedback. Votes are good, because people have to make an effort to do that. If your story is just gibberish, most people will just backbutton out. Though some visitors first language does seem to be gibber.

Voting seems to vary a lot by category. Generally, the votes cast on my more popular stories seem to be about 0.5% of views. My lowest is about 0.2%. Your voting rate seems to be about 0.4%, so from my experience, it seems nothing unusual.

I agree that votes are good, and like I said here the other day in a different thread feedback is even better, particularly constructive feedback, of course. Don't just tell me the story sucked. Tell me why.
