HDS Household D/s and DD Domestic Discipline

"Household D/s" (HDS) is a style of D/s centered on the idea of the household, in the Victorian or Edwardian sense, as a social hierarchy within the home. It is influenced by Victorian and Edwardian structures and manners, but also includes attitudes to servants and slaves from Roman and Eastern models, in which sexual service and companionship between master and servant was more socially accepted.
The central figure in Household D/s is the master of the house (for convenience I am writing in terms of male heads of household, but everything here applies equally well to women who use patriarchal styles of dominance.) He holds ultimate authority, and he determines the other members and visitors that participate in the household. With that authority comes an equivalent level of responsibility, and like the captain of a ship, all decisions ultimately rest on his shoulders.
