Victimisation?

I check my stories daily to see how they are fairing in the ratings. I only have six so it isn’t a huge task, usually they move one or two points up or down in a twenty-four hour period. Imagine my shock when checking this morning to discover that three of my stories had taken a real beating, D.I.Y. Orgy dropped by over 30 points, A Hike Into Hell fell by 10 points and Auctioneer’s Block dropped by around 17 points. I just can’t believe it, nothing like this has ever happened before and I can’t help thinking someone has deliberately down rated my stories, but why they should do that is beyond me. I must admit, it has upset me a little because of my six stories, five were rated as hot. Has anyone else experienced anything like this, and if so, what did you do about it?

I asume you mean that your stories fell 0.30, 0.10, and 0.17 points, not 30, 10, and 17, because Lit scores only go up to 5.00.

Don't know. How many votes do they have and when was the last time you checked them?

Sandy: This is what's known in the trade as a 1-bombing. Somebody with no talent has noticed yours and decided to be mean. If it bothers you, then there's a link at the bottom of each story saying 'Report this story' which you can use to tell Laurel about the 1-bomb. Unfortunately the little trolls are a fact of life around here, everyone gets them occasionally.

Look on the bright side: they picked on you cause you were doing well.

Yes, sorry, that was 0.30+, )10 etc. I checked yesterday morning and again this morning, which is when I made the discovery!

Thank you Earl, That cheered me a little. I just can't understand why someone would be so mean though. Constructive criticism is fine and I can handle that, but to just pick on someone for no reason is really wicked and so pathetic it is beyond belief.
