I worked with a VG lady once who spent 12 hours all three days of the weekend, every weekend, online in competitive gaming. She was 6' and doing professional modeling when she wasn't at her Marketing gig. Absolutely gorgeous.

I think a lot of women are secret gamers. Or maybe not so secret, they just don't broadcast the fact. Everyone that has been brought up since the early 80s have had constant exposure. To say females are less likely to click with that world is insane. It's an escape from normal life, even more so than movies. Good games, completely saturate you in that world. The really good games make you think, for a minute or two, after you stop playing and wonder which is the true reality.

Not so much of a secret here for me, it's just that many women don't talk much about them.
Bit of a tomboy here, the only girl and the youngest in the family, raised around video games.
I had to revisit Double Dragon 2 again on the Nintendo Switch and beat the game in Supreme Master mode for the fourth time, lol.
I love those beat 'em up games!

I bet I spent a billion dollars playing the original in the local arcade. I don't remember ever getting very far before I ran out of quarters. I am interested in the second double dragon on the switch. I haven't played that in so long, I might of forgotten where it is!

The original was basura, part 2 was my favorite, though I always ended up with fingers pain doing all those combos. I'm delighted to have the Nintendo classic lineup on the Switch.

I am a gamer, have been for a long time. The fetishisation comes from porn, I'm pretty sure of it. All these "poor gamer boys" who "haven't got the social skills to speak to girls"...it's a load of crap. They do know how to speak to girls, they have just been told for so long they don't that their confidence has been knocked.
