Vessels

Salutations on your pickup of another kitchen product
You say she's teflon-coated -- good, she needs to be.

When I was your vessel
you poured unto me your libations;
sloshed 'em around
my accomodating pottery.
Was I your gastank?

Vessel, what a word.
you sailed me south
to lands of tarnished tropic jungledom,
and days of sequential margarine.

Anchors, not laurels, textured
your laconic offerings.
Still, your winestain remains.
No teflon me.
I like this, it plays very nicely with two meanings of vessel. I wondered when I would see that here. It is used very nicely in Spanish (vaso), Neruda, I think, used it in this way.
The one word that glares is gastank, as most would associate that with cars. The other suggestion I would make is keep your kitchen things out of the sailing vessel parts, and balance them.
I like the lines, I like where this is going.

Hi sweet Morwen. Nice to see you again. :)

I love your poem, but I'm too tired to comment with more than about three brain cells at the moment. I'll be back when I'm more functional than a rutabaga.
