Venus & Mars

Are males an unfatomable mystery to you? Are females? What do you experience when youre around them?

I was raised with 5 sisters, 2 aunts, mother, and grandmother in the house. But I dont know squat about females. I have 3 daughters. Men are as easy to operate as crayons and coloring books. Mencken said that observing two women embrace and kiss reminded him of boxers touching gloves before a bout.

I think I understand a smidgen about both sexes, but I'm not an expert on either. Insofar as my level of comfort with the two sexes, I would have to say that I tend to like men as friends and women as lovers.

What do I experience when I'm around men? It depends on the man in question. If he's funny and charming and likes to chat about similar things, I like to be around him. If he's a jerk who likes to criticize everything and talks way too much, I don't like to be around him.

What do I experience around women? Again, it depends on the woman. If she's my type of woman, I enjoy her very much and might even be attracted to her. If not, not.

With men, theyre either on the rag or not. Either way you know what to do.

Women are the perfect blend of carousel and kaleidoscope.

If I had one bit of advice to give young men about women its, let the earth take a few spins and return in 30 days. Dont fuck anyone, dont stalk them, dont pester them, simply find something useful to do for awhile. Then send a simple apology (guilty of not) and see what happens.

I think that Mars-Venus business hogwash. Yes, yes, there are differences, no one's denying it, but the entire mystification of the other sex as some kind of alien species is silly. I relate to a person rather than a plural noun.

I flat love and respect women, as companions, friends and most definitely lovers. I can bond with and respect men, enjoy their company if they're interesting and fun, and don't mind getting in trouble on occasion. ;)

I don't find women any more mysterious than men. People are mysterious.

But women...ah yes, women... the lyrics of "Chantilly Lace" by The Big Bopper say it for me:

"There ain't nothin' in the world like a big eyed girl
makes me act so funny, makes me spend my money
makes me feel real loose
like a long neck goose
that's a girl, oh, baby that's a what I like." :D

I had to hike my cuffs up above my ankles with THAT post.

Women are like Chinese calculus.

That's cuz you don't listen when we calmly and reasonably explain stuff to you. ;)

But I dunno. People mystify me at times and look all too transparent at others. On some vague general level, I suppose I understand women better, which is why I'm attracted to men. A pleasing symmetry, that.

All my life, I have been unable to understand women. Men will usually say something, and it's either the truth, as they understand it, or they are trying to cheat you for some reason. Either way, it's understandable. Women will say something and expect you to know what they mean when they say it, even if you have no idea what they mean. They expect you to know what they mean by the way they ard fiddling with their hair or touching their faces or picking their noses, or whatever. Maybe they fear making any kind of commitment. If they say one thing and mean another, they can later claim they really meant what they said, whether they did or not.

Supposedly, "No" means no but, it you let it go at that, they claim you just don't understand. They're right, of course.

The poor dears are at the mercy of their hormones, plus wanting a plausible escape hatch for any and every contingency. Theyre naturally ambivalent. No! I'm gonna invent a new word OMNIBULENT (capable of going in every direction, simultaneously) to characterize what they do. And its the guy's job to find the needle in their haystack of possibilities, locked inside a dark room, by mind-reading. Their butterfly sentiments visit every flower.

If all the literature of the human race and the central theme of figuring out the female, has not convinced you that women are basically a different, alien species, then nothing ever will.

Verdad...egad...but you are really wrong on this one...at it begins at birth if not before...little boys are totally different than little girls and as they grow, the differences become even more apparent.

There is no answer as a solution to understanding that which is not understandable.

Thas why nature made them that way, a neverending pursuit of comprehending the irrational and emotion driven female.

I wholeheartedly agree.

I completely understand women: they are totally random. Don't even try to predict their actions or parse their comments, just accept (and if possible, embrace) the randomness and inscrutability.

Men, on the other hand, are as simple as a tape dispenser. We only have one moving part, after all.......Carney
