The retail price of gasoline went up 5 cents per liter here today due to the strike in Venezuela.

(Thats about 15 cents a US gallon.)

Two weeks ago when the strike started, I was surprised at how little people here (seemed) to know or care about North American reliance on that country for oil and thong bikinis.

So, I hope to bring you some of the sights, smells and tastes of Venezuela right here in the coming days for your general edification.

Stay tuned.

People have been taking oil and oil products for granted for years due to the plentiful supply. The thonlgs are a different story.
