Just wondering if anyone who has personal expericence with this would mind giving me your two cents?

I have been considering doing this but would like to hear from people who have already done this. :catroar:

I have a vertical piercing and love it. The actual piercing didn't hurt as much as some of my other piercings (have 17 and think the cartilege ones are the worse). It really healed quickly (good blood supply down there) and was "messed" with right away. I use to have a ring in it but I switched over to a curved barbell which I really prefer and then I upgraded the gauge of the barbell several years ago. The balls on the barbell happen to rest in the proper areas and provide stimulation to the clit. Feel free to pm me if you have any other questions. :)

I have one, too! It hurt for about a second--just long enough for the piercer to push the needle through--and that was all. I really didn't bleed at all, either, and I wasn't even very sore. I could play with it after about a week, and it was healed enough to take the barbell out and leave it out for a few hours by the second week.

I really like the way it looks and feels, but I have problems with the barbell sometimes. Because it's kind of heavy on such a small and delicate part, I tend to get pretty sore after wearing the barbell for two or three days. So I have to take it out, and then it's a really big pain to try to put back in! Smaller curved barbells seem to give less trouble, but, of course, the smaller they are, they harder they are to take out and put in. Even if I haven't quite figured out the solution to that problem, I still think it's worth the trouble. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. :)

Thanks so much for your posting... I guess it's the care and healing part I'm most worried about. I see you're in WA... me too! I'll PM you later!

Thanks BiBunny!

One of the things that I wondered about is how easy it is to get it back in once you take it out. Do you do it in front of the mirror or just can do it by feel?

I'd be way too chicken to do this, but I had a friend who had one done when she was about 18, and I seem to recall hers didn't go so well and she had to take it out after a week or so. I'd have felt bad, and do now, but at the time I was still cringing and asking her how she could DO that?! :p

Has anyone who has had this piercing experienced loss of sensation in that area over time? I have heard you get used to it but do you run the risk of getting actually numb?

I've never actually used a mirror to help me put mine back in. I guess I think it would just make things more complicated because it's one more thing to have to hold in my hands. I can usually find the hole without too much difficulty. I just sort of lean forward and look at what I'm doing and do the rest of it by feel. The hardest part, by far, is screwing the ball back onto the barbell. It's really hard to hold the barbell still and keep the hole on the ball situated long enough to screw it back on. That's one reason I hardly ever wear my barbell!

As far as losing sensation, I haven't noticed it. I know I've heard that if you have your actual clit pierced, it can damage nerves and whatnot and cause you to lose sensation. But the hood piercing doesn't seem to have that kind of effect, at least in my case. I can't say it's made things more sensitive, but it hasn't hurt, either. Of course, it could be because I hardly ever wear my jewelry (for reasons mentioned above!), so I may not be the best person to answer that question!

With vertical piercings there is less chance of hitting any nerve areas whereas the horizontal piercings you can run into problems. Not many folks have the right anatomy setup for a horizontal piercing and when folks insist on having it and a piercer is stupid enough to oblige = problems. As long as your piercer knows his anatomy (ie what the hell a clit looks like) then you shouldn't have any issues with loss of sensation.

I have taken mine out only to change jewelry and was able to get it back in without any problem whatsoever. I have also had several surgeries and convinced the docs that the damn thing didn't need to come out (not like they were going to be operating in that area so they had no excuse).

A hood piercing is one of the fastest healing piercings because of the blood supply to the area. Of course that assumes that proper after care is done.

I can say that I have not experienced any loss of sensitivity, quite the opposite. I'm more sensitive then ever.

VCH Piercing Question

Okay...so it doesn't hurt that much, and you need tiny jewelry for it, but does it FEEL GOOD? I mean, I don't care about how cute it is. Do you feel more pleasure? And how soon afterwards can you have sex?

not sure if I'm correct in assuming that is "vertical clit piercing?" which stil leaves me a bit at sea.

but, I know talking to my piercer who is excellent (won awards LOL) - she said that she refusese to do actual clit piercings - that it can cause major nerve damage and infections. Hood ones are fine. I have labia ones on eitehr side of clit and those are great - "x" marks the spot as it were. LOL
