Good morning, Dianne,

I sent you a private message a few hours ago.

I removed the post as lit doesn't allow advertising or promoting of other sites. Here are the guidelines which can be found by clicking the link at the bottom of the page.

6. Any posts made with the intent of promoting another site or a product will be removed. You may not send unsolicited PM's or emails to other users trying to promote other websites or products. Literotica is not a place to promote other websites, and we are very strict on this issue. If you abuse this policy, you will be banned.

7. Please do not blatantly "advertise" for other websites in your signature. We allow non-commercial links to other people's personal websites in sigs, but please do not beg people to click on your link, make it huge and/or flashing, or otherwise be obnoxious.

We do not allow links to any adult pay sites. We also reserve the right to remove signatures which link to sites with numerous annoying pop-ups, viruses, or anything else potentially harmful to people's computers. If you turn your signature into an advertisement, we will ask you to change it. Do not start threads with the URL in the header.

Take care and best wishes on your new project.

Ok. If I did not run Other Sex, which is a free site BTW, cost no money and is a bdsm community... and I posted something about a great article, are you saying this isn't allowed? Please understand that I simply want to know.

As for my sig... are you saying I need to change this too? That if Other Sex was my web site, free- I can't add that?

Just send me a message and I'll have a look.

Thanks,
Dianna

Thanks, again, Dianne.

(Coming out of closed doors.)

For anyone reading this, the guidelines I posted ahve been newly revised as have some others. It wouldn't be a bad thing to take a peek at them.

:)

Hi Miss T,

I generally agree with what you've said, but I think there are some gray areas.

I agree that paysites should not be promoted. Also 'free' but moneymaking {revenue generating and/or profit making) sites like literotica.

At the other end are the allowed 'personal' sites.

It seems to me that small personal sites runs by groups ['communities']of people (somehow related to bdsm) that are NOT generating revenue should be given a little leeway. I realize that it's hard to say what's 'blatant' promotion, though we all think we know it when we see it.

I appreciate all your fine moderation efforts.

J.

Added [05/04 19:28 pm edt] : This is not a plea on behalf of any particular site; I don't yet know much about the one mentioned by Diane Vesta. I don't know of its being a 'community' as specified in my posting above.

Linking to other sites and/or copying and pasting some info and crediting the site is often done here in sharing information and generating conversation about a specific topic in this forum. I came back to this because it's an interesting question about where the line is drawn.

While it's true that there is room for many similar sites on the 'net and sharing, in camparison is the line a bit like a competing dry cleaning store specifically setting it's advertising inside the store of another dry cleaner without permission...in that case a mutual agreement, exchange and value received would be in order, particularly when generating revenue in the same sort of venture (?).

Thank you, Pure.

Dianne and I have "discussed" the matter and come to an understanding based upon compromise.

We should expect to hear more from her and her site that provides us a chance to discuss topics and articles and of course, neither I nor the webmasters would discourage anyone from checking it out.

:)

In terms of your difficulty registering, I advised Dianne of hte problem. It may have something to do with your browser, so perhaps with some tweaking, you may try again.

:)
