Rumors had it Dracula was out looking for a bride, everyone knew how powerful he was but one woman he had his eyes on for a very long time was near. Her name was Melody, she had a beautiful voice and pretty much lived where she could. She had no home and no parents, but she worked at the tavern where she sang in return they gave her a room. Melody had only one friend which was Vlad. But what she did not know was he really was dracula, she had no ideas what so ever. Melody was waiting for him so they could have there nightly walk.

Dracula walked through the shadows of the night as he had done for hundreds of years before. Some would think immortality a great gift but he knew all too well the pain and lonliness it brings. He has tirelessly searched for someone to love him and be loved by him. Finally he had found someone who had caught his eye, or more accurately his ear. Walking the town one night he heard a beautiful voice from the tavern. It was here that he met Melody and struck up some conversation with her under the guise of Vlad. He so enjoyed their nightly strolls after she got off of work and was on his way to the tavern now. He could just see the light coming from the windows and her figure standing at the door waiting for him. He strolled up to her with a smile.

She was humming to herself as she waited patiently, she had a kind smile on her face as she sighed a bit her back against the wall, but she heard something and when she looked she saw him, she had a kind smile on her face that grew seeing him, she walked up to him and smiled. "Good Evening Vlad" She said softly, a hidden passion seen in her eyes, words she had wanted to tell him for such a long time but didn't know how to say the three words expressing she loved him.

The smile on her face when she saw him brought him immense happiness. Especially since he knew it was not one that he forced. Sure he had a way of getting people to do and say what he wanted but he never used that ability on Melody and he never wanted to. After all he was hoping that she would love him willingly. It is the only way either of them would ever really be happy. He walked up to her and gave her a hug. "Come and walk with me. How was work?" They began their stroll under the moonlit sky

 

[Mayu]

She smiled as she began to walk with him, sighing a bit she looked at him "Same as always a pleasure" Looking forward she couldn't help but be curious about Vlad, he was very mysterious, she knew nothing of his history but she never asked. Melody looked back into his eyes "How have you been tonight, you seem troubled.."

"Just been a lonely day is all. But that is all better now. I must admitt I have grown to look forward to our long walks. It is the highlight of my nights" He gazed deep into her eyes. It was apparent in his eyes that he was telling her the truth. He just gazed into hers trying to see how she felt about him and their walks

 

[Mayu]

Melody could tell when someone lied but Vlad never did, he was always truthful. She smiled as she was happy how he felt she nodded some. "I to enjoy our nightly long walks, ive taken with you I won't lie about that" She looked back into his gentle eyes her eyes showing love as she sighed a bit.

Her loving eyes and sigh were a huge comfort to him. He knew she would never lie about such a thing. It was one of the things that he loved about her. It was also one thing that tore him apart deep down. He hated keeping his true identity a secret but he didnt have a choice. There was no way anyone would love a monster like him if they knew who he was. Hopefully he could get her to love him to the point that she could overlook such a fault. He put his arm around her and pulled her closer as they walked

She couldn't help but smile feeling his arm around her, she leaned her head against him as she started to wonder so many things. "Tonight there was talk about the one man people fear the most" She said softly. "It really upsets me that people talk crap about people even if that person was a vampire to some and a monster to most" Looking into his eyes "Do you think it foolish to not think Dracula is a monster?"

Her words broght warmth to his heart. Maybe there was hope for her to love him despite his real identity. "I do not think it foolish at all. I mean what evil has he committed besides being a vampire? Why is it his blood causes him to be a monster and there are murders and rapists in the cities that are just considered evil men? Are they not more of a monster than he?

 

[Mayu]

Melody smiled at what he said and nodded "thats why I do not see him bad, he hurts people to survive, he feeds on blood and needs it to survive there isn't anything monstrous about that, I mean look at all the bad guys out there" She looked into his eyes. "Glad you feel the same way.."

"youre right. Its no more monstrous than killing an animal for food. We must all do what is neccessary for survival." He loved the look in her eyes. He wanted to confess his feelings for her right there. The only thing holding him back was fear. Fear she may not yet feel completely the same way. Fear of rejection. Kind of ironic how his name alone strikes fear in thousands of people yet it is he who is afraid.

 

[Mayu]

Melody looked into his eyes seeing something wrong "vlad" She said softly, placing her hand on his chest. "Is something wrong?" She didn't want him to hide anything, she sighed a bit. "You don't need to hide things from me Vlad, I care for you and id never leave when you need me most" She said with all her heart.

He stops and takes her in his arms and hugs her. "It is nothing really. Thank you for caring so much. It really means alot. I dont know what I'd do without you" He just wasnt ready to open up about his true identity and he didnt want to confess his love for her until he was ready to do so. He decided to change the subject off himself. "Melody... will you sing one of your songs for me as we walk under the moonlight. I just love to hear you sing"

 

[Mayu]

She smiled looking at him she nodded as they began to walk again she wasn't to sure what to sing. But there was one song she knew would fit this moment, the song she wrote for him. She stopped for a moment "I wrote a song about you Vlad" She said softly, she held her head up high and looked at him kindly.

They walked alone in the moonlight as she sang her song with that angelic voice of hers. He was touched by the fact that she would write a song for him but even more moved when be began to hear the words. It looks like she may feel for him what he feels for her afterall. He decided that after she was done singing he would take the chance and face his greatest fear....that of rejection. As the last note of her beautiful song filled the air he looked deeply into her eyes. His face said everything for him without whispering a word. Instead of talking he took her in his arms and leaned in to kiss her.

Melody once finished looked into his eyes, seeing a spark in his eyes, a spark she had not seen in his eyes. The song she sang was of how he was to her, he freed her from being damned into being nothing but a shadow. When he kissed her she was taken back, but once it registered in her mind a moment later she moaned into the kiss making it much more deeper, feeling the love pour from him.

At first he wasn't sure how she felt about the kiss but then she began to show her love for him as well. He pulled her closer and tighter in his arms as the kiss continued never wanting the moment to end. Partially because of how happy he was in that moment and partially because he still dreaded telling her his true identity. When it finally did come to an end he just looked in her eyes and said "I love you"

Melody looked at him in that moment she saw a smile on his face and returned the love he shared with her, she listened to the three words she had longed to hear and she longed to say them. "I love you to Vlad" She said softly, looking into his eyes.

Hearing her love returned felt amazing. He wanted to wait and just enjoy the moment but he knew that she must know the truth about him. He looked into her eyes in such a way to let her know there was something he needed to say but didnt want to

She smiled but saw how he reacted then, she placed her hand on the side of his face. "Vlad...what is it?" She ran her hand on the side of his face "You can tell me.."

He looked away ashamed of what he was about to tell her. Afriad to look her in the eyes as he confessed his true identity. "There is something you dont know about me. Something Im not sure how to tell you"

 

[Mayu]

Watching him turn away she rested her hand on the side of his face, hoping he would look into her eyes and smiled some. "You can tell me Vlad" She said lovingly, gazing into his eyes.

He decided he couldnt say anything at the moment so he just showed her. He turned to his true form. That of Dracula, fangs and all. "I am the one everyone hates...I am Dracula" He looked into her eyes to see how she would respond

She had no idea what to say or even do, she saw his fangs and his brown eyes blue, her hand went to his face as she stroke the side of his face. "It will be ok, I don't see you as a monster"
