hey riff, thought you'd get a kick out of this. i had a yellow tabby that ran away a couple of years ago. i live in the country and i was pretty sure that i had seen him a couple of times in the past at a cattle ranch about a mile away. five nights ago he was laying on my front porch when i got home and walked in the door like he'd never been gone. jumped up on the couch and took a nap...cats, gotta love their attitude.

My mom and dad call each other "Bubba." The story is that each of them turn their nose up at the name so they use it as a term of affection.

When I was a senior in HS I came home drunk one night and there was a big fluffy ball on my mom's car. I grabbed it and took it in with me. I fed him and he was completely cuddly. I awoke to the sound of my mom screaming about a cat in the house.

They got over it and we named him Jowls because he had a head the size of a small pumpkin.

That's a neat story about your cat coming home. If I lived in the country I would let mine roam free, but where I am now there are plenty of strays an since mine got declawed (as they were destroying the apartment) they would probably just get killed.

Umberto has this thing. When I lie for a nap on the couch with the afghan on me, he leaps on my chest, and begins to suckle on the fringe like he is nursing. Mashes all around it too.
