Vacation Homes for $100,000???

you'll pay more than $100k for 1000SF in this 'hood. And the land will be a postage stamp size.

If wages allow for it then that's the way the market is going to lean but I'll never cease to be amazed at what people pay for such small properties.

Raising a family in such a small, expensive home simply because it has a beach down the road is stupid.
Might make sense for a vacation home but not a family home.
I wouldn't call it a vacation 'home' either. More like a vacation shack.

I guess we all have our priorities. I never thought our home was small. Plenty of room for me and my 2 daughters. 2 BR, 1 BA and a finished bsmt with an extra BR and a mid sized fenced in back yard. Got it for a good price. When the housing market skyrocketed - so did the value of the house. And, since it is in a private beach neighborhood, the value has pretty much stayed the same even though the price of other houses has gone down. Call it whatever you want. I think it's a slice of heaven.

Same houses though. It doesn't matter what it's being used for, everybody is going to pay basically the same.
