UTI with oral?

I have a question...everytime Irecieve oral sex from my boyfriend, I get a UTI. What can I d oto prevent this from happening? Thanks. Kate

I feel your pain, Lily. Check on page two of this forum, thread entitled "Urinary Tract Infection". You should be able to get some helpful info there.

Whatever causes them, UTIs are a great big pain in the nether regions.

You can urinate very soon after sex to flush out bacteria. And also try cranberry pills to help prevent UTIs.

I have had very good luck with cranberry juice, and/or pills. I also try to pee as soon as possible.

I dunno. Maybe you need to have your guy brush his teeth and use a little Listerine.

urinating should have little or no effect on removing the bacteria. make sure your partner washes his hands and has clean fingernails. listerine might help as well. after the fact, if you feel a uti coming on, take cranberry pills, drink goldenseal tea (and/or use a tincture), and make sure you take plenty of fluids. the goldenseal is a natural antibacterial and antiviral agent. never ever let a uti go for too long without seeing a doctor to get anitbiotics. if the goldenseal/cranberry treatment works, that is great. if not, see a doctor because many of the bacteria that live in the mouth can lead to gram negative septic shock, which requires hospitalization and is pretty serious. not to scare you are anything. goldenseal is really effective stuff though. AND it doesn't interfere with oral contraceptives like prescription anitbiotics do.

are you being diagnosed by a doctor as having a uti or do you just have the pain associated with it? Rough stimulation in that area causes uti like symptoms without actually having one. If thats the case, then have your guy be a little more gentle. If you have been to a doc, go the gynecologist and talk to them about it.

Some advives:

1. Urinate at once after having sex
2. Drink a lot before and after.
3. consult an urologist for long term protection. There are some harmless drugs available like "L-Methionin"
