UT Fans- Vols Going To SEC

Let's talk about UT Vols for a minute. They deserve our praise - winning in the Swamp for the first time since 1971!! And, get this.. our players didn't arrive back in Knoxville until almost midnight and yet 3- 4,000 fans were waiting at Tom Black track to cheer their victory. Now that's loyal die-hard fans.

I think we're now ranked #2 on the SEC poll. heh.. amazing. Spurrier can kiss my ass.

Just don't slip up and lose to LSU. 9 SEC teams are (probably) heading for post season bowl games. What a conference!

Oh and I can't help myself, because 1) LSU beat Auburn and 2) as much as I love my home state, I don't generally like UT.

Well Tennessee Vixen, if you are from any other SEC school, everything. If you are from Tennessee, life's a dream.

Now that the Vols are #2, look out Rose Bowl. Miami will have a problem if you look at how well Virginia Tech handled them defensively.

As much as I love Rocky Top, the UT Band massacres it.

What they do to the Tennessee Waltz isn't even worth talking about.

I also have a problem with the UT is IT mentality that permeates Tn, especially East Tn.

If they make it to the Rose Bowl, I hope they win it. But until then, Geaux Tigers!

Well Marxist, I give the Vols credit ~ they are a good team for sure. In fact, dare I say better defensively than anyone thought. Offensively they are hit or miss. The Vol D keeps them in games, they are not an offensive team by nature this year.

As for your opinion, your entitled and that is cool. But I disagree. The difference is the U of M Defense is one of the BEST in the Nation, quite simply put. The offense is better than last years. Sure we played some squekers and sure maybe we didn't play a "difficult" schedule by your standards. But the truth of the matter is, BC had the chance to knock them off, VA Tech (which is an underrated team as always..........) had their chances too, but Miami won. The Canes are on a mission. I seriously do hope the Vols win, because it should be a dandy game.

Look at the numbers on Miami's offense and defense. The numbers don't lie. Glad you have a different opinion and your entitled but Miami IS the best team in the Nation. The BCS is a crock and everyone knows it, I would love to see a playoff system in Division 1 but it won't happen due to too much $$$ payoffs to NCAA officials, etc....

Hey Chuck, I'm developing a new attitude for conversations as this, "FRIENDLY," I'm going to use it for sports talk because who can really take something as fun and trivial as sports seriously.

That said, here's my argument against Miami and the big letdown headed their way no matter whomever they play.

Miami essentially has bye games when playing such high school caliber teams as Rutgers (61-0), Troy St. (38-7), and Temple (38-0). This skews any viewing of Miami's statistics objectively. Especially their defense, which is good, but not great (see V.Tech and Pitt.).

Miami is an excellent school and based on their perfect season, they deserve to be ranked #1.

I don't like the BCS either, but one thing the BCS does insure is that those in weak conferences like The Big East won't get to pick an easy win to play against and a guaranteed championship.

Are you a fellow Tiger fan, Ranajja? I so wish I had been at the game! I flew back home to New Orleans through Atlanta on Friday and saw all the Tigers and Vols in the Atlanta airport and almost stayed for the game.

The Georgia Dome is pretty good to us. Maybe we should have it moved to Baton Rouge?
