Hello,

This is likely not the best place for this thread, but I have poked around quite a bit looking for a precident (so far without any luck) and am hopeful someone in the AH might have some input/advice...

I'm wondering if it is possible to have your LIT username/login changed by the site administrators without losing the "history" (submissions/stats/comments, etc)... associated with it?

I do realize it's a strange question.

I believe a couple of people have managed it via PMs to Laurel, but I'm not positive.

It is possible, but you need to have a very convincing reason for doing so.

It requires Admin access to edit the username and the admins are outnumbered about 771,481 to 2. If they don't make it dificult to convince them to make the change, they won't have time to do anything except change usernames.

I know of one person who has changed usernames, and their stories followed to the new username...

Thinking of changing your name, drk?

I believe it can only be done if the account name is aged 65 or whatever the retirement age is in your local area. :)

Contact Jake Rivers, formally Diamond Jack. He is trying to get all his stories and info moved. He is having a hell of a time getting it changed but he can probably tell you better than anyone seeing he's trying to do it.
