The appendix is such a waste of space.


Our eldest was taken to the hospital this morning with unstoppable vomiting and acute abdominal pain. They've been running tests on her since about 7 this morning. Just now got word that she's to have surgery. Vella's been with her since about 6 this morning, so I've arranged for the other kids and can now head up as well. We probably won't have cell coverage or a chance to answer for the rest of the day, but I'll try and post an update as soon as we have one. Positive thoughts would be greatly appreciated. We're worried about her.

I had my appendix removed at about the same age.

I haven't missed it in the subsequent 50+ years nor have I had any ill-effects from the operation.

Of course nowadays they don't tie you down with rope, fill you with neat rum, and operate with wood saws and hand drills.

The operation today is a simple procedure that should be over quickly with a swift recovery.

I had my appendix out when I was in my mid 20s. It was the easiest of all of my hospital visits (jaw surgery, appendix, two kidney stone visits, and if you want to include minor surgery I had eight teeth removed at once).

Hope he does ok. It's still surgery, and dangerous, but it should all be alright in the end.

been a long fricken day. the best thing is that kat is just fine if not just a wee bit exhausted and totally medicated.
i hate worry. i seem to gravitate to it though. huge thanks to all for healing vibes, kat could sure use em. the bigest thanks of all to my wonderful wife. she is awesome.
