I tried to search for any threads involving favorite authors/books. I either get an error message about reconfiguration or results that have nothing to do with this topic. Can anyone tell me...
1) The best way to run a search
2) If there's ever been a similar thread
3) Which section of Lit I should start this kind of thread in

Thanks for any and all help!

If you are looking for members, authors or stories you can go here:

http://www.literotica.com/stories/index.php

Scroll down 3/4 of the way and you'll come across links to each one of those things.

I know at one time the Author's Hangout forum had a review thread and they do have a thread for author's and their books, so you may find someone there that is a favorite of yours.

If you are wanting to start a thread with just your favorite author's then I would suggest the story discussion forum.

There are instructions for using the forum search function and searching the forums and site via Google (typically a better method for finding specific info) in our FAQ sticky.

Yes, there have been many threads on favorite authors and books. Click Me, and you can also use that search as a template for finding other threads. Just change the 'favorite books' part to whatever else you're looking for (e.g. favorite authors, threesomes, sex toys, summer reading list...).

Using Google Advanced Search is the best way to search any site. Enter your search term and the website address and Google does the rest for you.

You guys were right on the money again. I found a great list of book threads, but the most recent post in any of them was January of this year. Is it tacky to resurrect a long-dead thread?

You should be fine posting to a thread like that.

Now if you're responding to someone who asked for advice in like 2004, you're better off PMing them to see if they still have an issue, rather than bumping a thread that's been dead for ages.

Common sense rules, and you seem to have plenty of it to make the call. :)

Sometimes my common sense takes a vacation without asking me for the time off first. :) Thanks again for the help!
