... use natural oils

Hi. Obviously I'm new here. I've read a lot of great posts. You people really know what you're talking about!

I've begun using natural oils for skin care. Almond, grapeseed oil, coconut oil ... those are the main ones I use. I've read coconut oil can be used as a natural lubricant. I'm hesitant to use it intimately because I can't find much information from people who have actually tried it.

Condoms aren't an issue for me so I don't have to worry about that. If it works though, it's edible and sounds so much better than ky jelly. Anybody tried something like this?

Well, if KY jelly is the only lube you've tried, I'd advise you to branch out. KY is great for things like medical procedures which are generally one single insertion. For sex, you don't want that.

We've been using it for quite sometime now. I originally saw it recommended here by several people. While we mainly use it for handjobs and the like, I've used it for vaginal moisturization and masturbation quite a bit with absolutely no problems (and I'm extremely sensitive to lube ingredients; a lot of stuff irritates me and/or sets off an infection). I don't prefer it over silicone lube in the sex department, but it's a close second and has helped us conserve the silicone, which is quite expensive (though not really when I remember a pint lasts us many years and it doesn't go bad like a lot of other lubes). It's great for fun in the shower, too.

Supposedly, coconut oil has natural antibacterial properties, so it won't promote infection like some other oils and foods. Maybe that's something for you to research?

Anyway, I'd definitely say it's worth a try. Just about anything is going to be better than KY Jelly - that stuff is not only filled with a bunch of crap, it's not a sexual lubricant at all (it's formulated for one time insertion of medical instruments). If you do want to stick with water-based for whatever reason(s), there are many good lubes out there; Babeland.com has some great advice and buying guides, though you can find most of the lubes cheaper elsewhere.

Thanks for the advice. I love coconut oil and it's been great for my skin. I have trouble with my skin being too sensitve & infections too which is why I'd been hesitant to try it.

BTW ... I didn't mean KY jelly ... lol. I just couldn't think of the name of the one I meant! We use other lubes ... both water-based & silicones. I just thought it would be fun to try something different.
