Sadly, my last submission seems to have attracted the wrong sort. :(

I received the most revolting feedback, that I will not even repeat here because it involved children.

Now I wonder if the site managers would be so kind as to have my last two submissions deleted? Does that ever happen?

Quite a few people have their stories deleted. Just resubmit the title and subtitle as you normally would, with DELETE added to the title line, and the story box empty. You might want to say something else in the notes box, but that isn't required.

Though I have to say, I am not a fan of removing any of my stories just because people don't like them. I just posted my worst received story ever, people hate it, and yet I see no reason to take it down. I would rather leave it up as a reminder of what not to do next time.

But that is of course up to you.

Nicely said. I agree with that, I suggest you just delete the nasty comments instead. Besides, are you writing for others or yourself. If you liked the story, then I'm pretty sure you should keep it up. If, however, even YOU find your story pathetic, then maybe try again.

I have a question: Is it possible to re-submit the same story with spelling and grammatical errors corrected?

Yes. Just do the same thing as suggested with Delete--with "Edit" on the slug line (might also note it is an edit in the notes box).

There is a FAQ page on the site explaining how to do both of these.

I appreciate everyone's help with this. I already feel better.

To explain, it's not that someone gave me negative feedback about my story, all the feedback has been positive, the problem is that I got feedback from someone who riffed off my story into his perverted intentions toward children.

Of course, my story was not about children. I wrote about two adults, but it makes me feel absolutely sick to think that someone got off on my story in such a way.

I know it isn't me, but my story did play with some themes that could be misinterpreted, so I will simply feel better deleting it, because I want no part of that.

Thanks for your help.

Yes. Just add "-- EDITED" or "-- Revised" to the title and resubmit exactly as you did for the original. It's a good idea to summarize the changes in the comments field.

"Revised" stories generally contain significant changes to plot or continuity and "Edited" are generally limited to spelling and grammar corrections.

Unfortunately, in a free society there is always that lunatic, deranged fringe who misinterpret everything around them. We get accused of the same thing, I guess, but at least we're consenting adults.

Seriously, I agree with TGP, M98, and vm. If you're proud of it, leave it up. You're not responsible for other people's opinions.

Hi, Vielle,

I haven't read your story but I'd think twice before removing it. Perhaps you have written something with which you're not pleased, in which case don't hesitate to pull it. But if it's just a matter of some psycho browbeating you, delete his comment and continue merrily your own way. Psycho comments are inevitable whenever you submit anything to the public; don't let the decision be about anything but your own level of comfort.

Vielle, you can delete the comments instead of deleteing your stories
Don't tear down your house because you found a cockroach in it, yanno?:rose:
