Upstate

I am not looking for a New England

I am just looking for another girl

We have to say upstate or people think we're from Brooklyn. I grew up in Orange county.

Sorry Orange County ain't upstate either

If you are close enough to the city to work there that isn't the upstate

It's always amusing to me how people's opinion on what defines "upstate" varies. Growing up in Jersey, anything that wasn't "the city" was upstate. Now I live in central New York State and when I say something about being upstate, they say, "we're not upstate New York; we're central New York."

All about perspective, sometimes I feel like anything north of 59th street is upstate.

I just moved to the capital district from CT and it is funny to me as well

To me if you can't travel to work in the city then you are upstate

There's a meme floating around that goes something like: you know are from New York when you have to give at least two cities and a body of water when explaining where you live.

And it's totally true.
