YAY I went through it for no fucking reason at all.

all that waiting then going through with it and I find out they did nothing.

seen the doctor today. he said what they did was opened me, stuck a camera in, found the problem and then sewed me up.

There is nothing they could do and nothing they can ever to (well they have been developeing a procidure but that is still 15 or so years off)

it's what the doctor feared but hoped it wasn't.
the cartalage between the knee bones broke in half, this doesnot heal and cannot be replaced.

so i'm back where I started, i'll have the locking, giveing out, throbing, popeing, cracking for the reast of my life (or untill they can fix the procidure)
the whole point of this suregery was supose to be to fix all those problems.

ah well shit happens, it's not going to bother me, i'll keep on with myself.

That sucks.

I sorta know what your going through. I've had like 3 surguries on my ear in my life. The first one was to correct a very painful chronic ear infection. The second one was to correct a fuck up in the first procedure and the third one was to fix the fuck up in the second one.

Sounds fun, doesn't it?

I can relate, Fly. I've had surgery on my right knee twice. Now it's more fucked up than it ever was. I go through periods when I have to wear a brace on it. It swells and aches from things as simple as bowling.

I am very sorry to hear that, Fly. I can sympathize. I went through major abdominal surgery that had me living on IVs for three weeks and morphine for two because the doctor did not listen to me. I know my body. I told him exactly what he would find. He refused to believe it, and opened me up, took the tissue out, and found that it was exactly as I had said.

$65,000 worth of bills for nothing. Thank God the insurance covered it...

Keep on keepin' on, man.

Damn, sorry to hear that Fly. That really does suck. :( Even tho I can't relate, I wish you the best of luck.

Is replacement an option?

I have more problems with my knee than I can even begin to tell you about. Suffice it to say that the xrays are used as teaching tools for all the things that can go wrong with a joint...

Anyway, replacement is my only real, longterm option. Unfortunately, with no health insurance, it's not happening soon.

pagancowgirl the doctor said last year after about 4 months after the accedent and when the problems started.

"Things would have been better if you'd been more hurt. That sounds a horrid thing to say, but if there were any more damage we could have replaced part of the knee."

there isn't enough damage in the knee to go through with a replacement.... well at least not at my age.

Like I said they may have a fix for the problem in say 10-15 years.

I can put up with it. I'll just have to use my brace again, (i'm going to try and get a better one) and do more exersices then the average person (which I don't mind)

I remeber you talking about your knee before saying you wanted to go with the replacement.
let us know if you ever decide one way or the other.

Sorry to hear they didn't fix it fly....... just work with what you got and I'm sure you will get by just fine :)

Oh, Fly, I'm so sorry the surgery couldn't help you. I know you were hoping for a better result than what they have told you. I wish there was something much more positive I could write, but all I can offer are my heartfelt wishes that you'll be okay.

My son has knee problems, too, and with soccer season fast approaching, I know I'll have to be seeing the specialist very soon.

Hugs to you, Fly.

I'm sorry to hear that.

At least now you can start to plan your future on facts rather than guesswork.

Sorry to hear the results, Fly!

Glad that your attitude is so even, as I'm not sure how I would be able to manage the news after all you've been through!

All the best!:rose:

Damn, Fly! I'm so sorry to hear that. :(

I have a bad knee too...torn cartilege and all that. They went in when I was 18 and cleaned it all. Still hurts like a bitch sometimes but the surgery was worse, I'll never do it again. Hurt so bad made me puke for days. Sorry, nice visual, huh? :)

estevie that's what we were all hopeing for, torn cartalage could have been scraped, or floateing removed, but since it's broken but still attatched to the bone then can't remove it, and there is nothing to shave off.

visual has been thrown out :)

Ahhhh, I see. And modern medicine can't fix it? That sucks. So, did they say to do anything? Physical Therapy, perhaps? Would that help?

I was told some over the counter drugs that could stop the enflameing, and the suddon muscle pains. that's about it.

they have been for years looking for a procidure to fix broken cartalage, but as of now they can't. hopefully one day.

Sorry dude. I really am. :(

But the doctor was right, they come out with new shit everyday. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. Just the fact that they could stick that little camera up in there and look around is amazing.

Keep hoping for the best.

I personally like the adjustable silver canes at Eckerds.

Luck!

Really sorry to hear that Fly :( but at least they didn't fuck it up any more...I hope!!! Maybe things will move along faster then they thought...like instead of 10 to 15 years it'll only be like 2 ;) Too bad they couldn't just tie it together huh??? :) Good luck to ya hon...hope things get better for ya!!!
