Saw a film last night or the night before and then saw another one, both with dainty fragile female characters lovely tiny diminutive breasts, tiny waists, lovely hips and thighs and wearing tight new blue jeans that actually accentuated the waist and the hips without exposing either.

Long sentence, I know.

I have never become quite comfortable with some changes of style and fashion, I do not personally like to see erect nipples straining for freedom in a shopping mall.

Thus the un-attractive role of hip fat bulging from hip hugger jeans and the oft exposed upper cleavage of the buttocks and the several inches of belly fat exposed below the navel, nearly to the pubic hair line, is somewhat of a turn-off for me, personally.

I thought it was just delightful to see the high waisted jeans once again and the movie wasn't that old, I think, circa 1995 or so.

see, I told you...not political...

Maybe it's 'cause I'm still so young, but I have no problem looking at cleavage.

You know, I see those hip hugging jeans all the time, and damn, they look good. I could never wear them (toooooo much belly that I'm too scaredy cat to show) but I do think that line, say half an inch or so, from the top of the jeans to the bottom of the top, of naked flesh is gorgeous, especially for me if it's not tanned.

It seems to exagerate the movement of the wearers bottom and hips, and it's really sexy, I'm straight and I think that! I know my husband appreciates it too.

I see alot of girls and ladies wearing them, some with lovely round tummies, some with the odd old stretch line, and at first, I react as my mum taught me to react. "urgh, put it away." butthen I rebel and I think "yeah, go for it!" and i wish I had the confidence to do it.

So, yay for the hip huggers say I!

Why are you scared? Eff what other people think. If they don't like it they can look away.

EL, you have to find a belly dancing class somewhere. Not only is it fun, but you also quickly become fascinated and mesmerized by your hips and you end up falling in love with that part of your body. There were women of all shapes and sizes and ages in my classes, and every single one of us felt sexy and gorgeous after each class. You'll be wearing those jeans in no time!

Not to mention, your husband will always be after you to show off some of your moves, and all those hip motions make for some great sex moves, especially when you're on top...

Erik -I like you :D thank you :) I guess my mother used to say fat women should cover it all up, it's icky to look at..so thats what I go on....but you've made me feel better :)

Lady J -Yes, I recently discovered that my husband likes to see my belly wiggle *grins* I'd love to belly dance, I shall have to see if I can find a class somewhere....

There's a very brief belly dancing segment on my Zumba workout DVD ... and I liked it so much that I ordered a belly dancing set. Wonderful stuff! Exersexing. :D

Anti fat is a prejudice, and unfortunately a socially rampant one. Now it's even backed up by studies and horrible images of how weak willed and awful fat folks are. But there are many people that are attracted to so many different body types that the trick is to become most comfortable with yourself, open or not, covered or not, and just be yourself.

That way, when someone becomes attracted to you for who you are, there's no "SURPRISE!" phase.

One of my favorite sights is someone who isn't a technically good dancer...dancing like hell and loving it. The love of the dance is the best part and that makes the person attractive to me. I don't care about how they look or how good they are. When there's a genuine appreciation for anything...your body, the way you move or the way you feel...that shows the world in my opinion the best of both worlds.

Personally I adore my body because of the whole orgasm thingy it gives me. I don't ask for more and I'm awfully grateful.

I've been fortunate enough to be in the company of people who agree. And even if they are not around, gosh, masturbation is nice!

Having an open mind includes the willingness and ability to find beauty in places where society tells you not to. That historically has included other races, other genders, other cultures.

Not accepting being ashamed of your body from anyone, be it your mother, your doctor or yourself, or the folks on the street, is a gift of open mindedness that can show other folks how it's done. Just like dancing with joy. It's the joy that counts. If people don't get that...well, that's too bad, and it's them I feel sorry for.

Jiggle for freedom!

Extreme hip huggers have now become firmly associated in my mind with dirty feet, light beer and Wal-Mart What tube tops were to the 80's, hip-huggers are now. Worn correctly they used to be enticing. Now they're just mass-market trashy.

My rule of fashion thumb says that you shouldn't expose anything in public that you're not willing to have touched. If you're okay with that, then wear them. Otherwise it's just false advertising, and that's trashy.

I think that men's tastes in women's fashions pretty much freezes at what the girls were wearing when the guy was about 21 or so. Carnaby Street still looks fresh and exciting to me.

Hip Huggers are the staple of my wardrobe diet and always, I hope slightly flared. I can't even imagine going back to uncomfortable and navel digging 1980's mom jeans. Of course, I do have a sense of class and would be almost as horrified to show off a plumber crack and my aging belly as I am terrified of Jerry Springer Show-like pantylines and camel toes.

My two cents. :)

me? im going for the Erkle-chest high jean look. one step away from overalls...ive moved to the south, i must adapt.

When the "waists" of jeans started dropping, none of my belts fit anymore.

I'm with Charley, though. Jeans that ride right at the waist are uncomfortable. I like a slightly-below-the-navel fit (which is flattering and yet still avoids plumber's crack).

I love 'em. I actually have a few which were given to me by my 19 year old niece...I'm short waisted, so the high waisted one do not work...I hated wearing jeans because I looked like I was all HIP!

Now, with the low rise or hip hugger ones, I look longer, leaner...

I do watch when I bend down tho. You do get that plumber look!!!

plus, when your belly buttons pierced, stuff that fits tight at the waist really gets to be annoying as hell....and can HURT if it catches.
