The wife and are already looking at and thinking about christmas gifts, as we have to send them off pretty early to Az to the US side of our family.

As always, I just love looking at the 'I want one of those' website, and similar, and thought I'd share some of my favourites with you.

Please feel free to add anything quirky, unusual, that you can find on the net.

First up. This one just made me giggle. And I know just who to send it to.

Damned good to see you, Matriarch! And all of the best to the wife, too.

I need to track down the name of a site for you - several relatives sent me items from it last Christmas. It's a charity site that helps people in poverty-stricken areas develop marketable skills and industries making various gift items. The gifts have been quite neat and it's good to know that you're helping others as well.

(I'm not sure that this is the one my relations used, but here's one site of that nature: http://www.tenthousandvillages.com/catalog/shop.php).

The Buddha Board: Buddha Board is based on the Zen concept of living in the moment. You simply paint on the surface with water and your creation will come to life in bold design. Then, as the water slowly evaporates, your art will magically disappear leaving you with a clean slate and a clear mind - ready to create a whole new masterpiece.

I love this site: Perpetual Kid

I bought my daughter one of these. It's really cool.

If your kid is boring...

"Hey, I know! Let's play airport security!"

"Okay!"

"First, let's stand around in line for a few hours. Then, let's put all our stuff through my Scan It machine. It's gonna beep. So I'll take the stuff out and go through it all, and then I'll perform a cavity search on you. Okay?"

"Um...."

Yes, I can see that the Scan It will be $29.95 well-spent. Children everywhere will learn to be less afraid of airports, per the toy's goal. Because it's the scanners -- not the endless waits or cranky travelers or even the gigantic jets -- that are scary. Alrighty, then.

Woohoo! I'm down with this little trinket.

Mmmmmm....cavity searches. (Homer voice)
