BTW, any thoughts on doing this kind of promotion on various other relevant fora, with the idea of getting more readers and writers?Torg said:This person actually did this legit. He posted his story on another site. That's why the flood has slowed to a trickle. Maybe some of those people will stick around. I'd certainly like to increase the readership/writership by a good 1000 pairs of eyes and hands.

A word of warning to those who choose to promote their stories: be very discerning when choosing a forum, as some people aren't quite so tolerant of CHYOO.Torg said:BTW, any thoughts on doing this kind of promotion on various other relevant fora, with the idea of getting more readers and writers?
Very true. I posted a message to some erotica communities on livejournal.com, so I knew I'd get a good reception. I would stick to erotica or writing groups, and not genre groups.gizmoo69 said:A word of warning to those who choose to promote their stories: be very discerning when choosing a forum, as some people aren't quite so tolerant of CHYOO.
I posted on a V:TM forum, here, to promote Vampire Fledgling, thinking that it would generate some interest, but alas, I got good and flamed. Last time I ever try that.

When I put Chyoo on LJ, I just advertised the main site, not my stories, as well.vic_elor said:I usually advertise it on my adult yahoo groups. I've never actually directly advertised any of my stories, just the main site. I guess I've always seen my stuff as too niche to be popular in general grouping and haven't found very many groups of matching niche.
I just do my part in regards to the whole community and hope for some trickle down.
