Relax, you can be pretty straightforward about that. Having a stocking kink is vanilla enough that I honestly can't imagine her having a problem with it. Either buy her some stockings or bring it up after you two next get intimate, but there's no reason to be worried about it.

Unless your wife is a totally unreasonable harpy bitch, I seriously doubt you need to be THIS worried about asking her to wear stockings more. Just tell her straight out that you love it when she wears stockings and you'd really appreciate it if she'd do it more for you.

Then buy her some NICE high-quality silk ones. Designer brand.

If it were me I'd just tell her you like the look of a woman in stockings, would she mind playing along once in a while. A more subtle approach would be as Satin suggests and buy her a pair of nice stockings.

Things like stockings and sexy underwear, girls will wear if they know you think they look hot wearing it. It makes them feel good too.

It's also quite easy to tell them. If you're just getting into an intimate moment, you could start by asking her what she thinks is sexy, maybe what she would like to try, then mention that you think she would look hot in stockings.
Last time I suggested something like that she said nothing, then surprised me with it when I came home from work the next day.

You didn't mention whether you like stockings or stockings with garter belts. Buying her some stockings is an excellent idea (and a garter belt if that's part of the picture for you/and her). Buy her an outfit if that's what it takes.

I'd agree with this. If it's something really basic like maybe trying out a new pattern or material for a bra or knickers or something as simple as stockings, as long as she knows you think she looks hot she'll probably feel good about it. Now, once you go down the road of things like corsets, collars, chains, etc. that's when gauging reactions and seriously thinking about how to bring it up come about. Stockings should be fine, especially since crotchless panties are already there
