Kayt Sukel volunteered to masturbate in an MRI machine while Komisaruk's team monitored her brain activity as she reached her climax. Sukel said she was happily married with a superb sex life, until she gave birth to her son. When her libido crumbled, so did her marriage. As a newly single mom, she set off to find out how love and lust impact our brains. Her book, "Dirty Minds: How Our Brains Influence Love, Sex and Relationships," explores the notion that the brain is a woman's most powerful sex organ.

"What are you doing at work today, honey?"

"Aaah, watching beautiful women masturbate."

"Oh. You mean, so you can study their brain patterns and unlock the key to female pleasure?"

"No, I meant on the interne--Hey, actually that's a pretty good idea. I might even be able to finagle some funding that way. Baby, you're brilliant."

"Thanks, do you want to make love now?"

"OK, but I've only got ten minutes, so no cuddling and none of that gaddamned foreplay shit. I hate that."

It's all between the ears not between the legs...

Only in the past couple of months have I come to realize how powerfully brain stimulation affects my ability to orgasm. It's been a really neat epiphany for me.

Oh, shush and let me put your ears between your legs.

Or my ears between your legs.

Putting my ears between my legs would break me, so we'll go with the second one.

But seriously, I'm almost 30, and I'm just now learning what works for me.

Thank you Lit.

I can easily buy into that philosophy.

Just like some women believe that a big cock will give them better orgasms, and indeed, the power of the mind gives them bigger and better orgasms.

Yep, I found the switch in my head a few years ago and can now orgasm on command.

There is definitely a difference in the intensity of orgasms, though. Obviously, the bigger the buildup, the greater the orgasm(s).

Really? Since I was a little girl masturbating under the covers at night I'd always relied on my imagination. Think about it. The sight of a penis does not stimulate, it's what's attached to it.

There's a great expression. "I know what's in your pants. Show me what's in your mind".

It's more about becoming comfortable with what's in my mind. And to be blunt, I've been able to orgasm lately without touching myself. I never knew that was possible. Words and ideas have been enough. I've been amazed.

The secret to releasing the mysterious female orgasm might be all in our heads -- literally. Surprising research suggests that the concept of female sexual dysfunction as a disease could be a myth, and that women may be, well, just over-thinking sex and love.

Kinks obviously play a major part! I know quite a few ladies who are not very aroused by vanilla sex and get off wildly with kinky situations. Seems I'm stating the obvious on this site!

I'd like to see an MRI of the same person at different stages of her kinky thoughts or situations ... get out the whips...
I'd like some funding for this, lol!

"I need a grant."

"For what?"

"I want to do a study of female sexuality and how women are aroused more by mental stimulus than physical."

"Uhhh, everyone already knows that."

"We'll let you watch the studies."

"Here's a million dollars."

"Now I want you to think of something very arousing. Possibly a geeky researcher in a white lab coat that has not gotten laid since high school."

Hey! I thought we agreed some things would remain private, Petey!

About the only quasi rational thing said on this thread.

Good orgasmic sex is accomplished through intense arousal or alcohol, which causes the blood to flow from the brain to the erogenous zones, thereby eliminating the ability of the female to think and finally shuts her up except for moans and screams.

I suspect the female orgasm exists only in pretend orgasms and that it is all a feminist creation to claim equality with men who do, really have orgasms.

There could be an exception however; an uterine contraction during sex could be called an orgasm, I guess, but what it really is, is the cervix opening and dipping down into the pool of semen to facilitate conception.

If you read instead of believed, then I wouldn't have to educate you.
