Undercover Noir Thiller

Are there any writers who want to write a noir thriller type story in the vein of Marlowe or Spillane - but obviously with plenty of sex? If so, here's an idea!

A college girl away from home for the first time in the big city disappears. The police are too busy to properly investigate. The girl's mother takes things into her own hands and some amateur detective work leads to the discovery that her daughter fell in with the wrong crowd with criminal links. She takes her suspicions to the police but without hard evidence, they cannot devote any time to the case.

In despair, she is approached by an old school detective written off by the police department because he's drinking too much. The detective tells her most of the police department are in the pockets of a criminal gang that has links to the crowd her daughter fell in with. He suggests an idea to her but its dangerous - the mother says she will do anything to get her daughter back and he tells her his plan.

She's to pretend to be a common street walking prostitute to infiltrate the crowd and slowly into the criminal gang. Beause they will be doing this off the record to keep the corrupt police from informing the gang, she will have no protection other than the detective.

The mother agrees and works her way into the crowd and into the criminal gang. She hates what she has to do and the fake orgasms she performs with the gang members (any one of which could have been involved with her daughter's disappearance) but tells herself shes doing this for her daughter.

She also finds herself getting close to one of the gang members and perhaps falling for him especially when he's so much nicer to her than the other gang members and he's expressing remorse about something terrible he's responsible for.

It turns out he was indirectly responsible for her daughter's disappearance. He was her daughter's boyfriend and responsible for introducing her daughter into the gang. When he messed up a big deal, the criminal gang had his girlfriend abducted and held hostage until he makes amends by paying the gang the money.

That looks like a pretty complete plot outline, bar the finish. You leave us with the mother whoring in an attempt to find her daughter, sleeping with (and maybe falling for) her daughter's gangster seducer, and the daughter held hostage to get money from the gangster boyfriend.

I can see several possible endings, but how do you see this being resolved?

Well there's the cliched ending my husband suggested where the daughter is rescued and there's a happy ever after where the mother and daughter share the boyfriend! Obviously this isn't what I'm hoping for as I'm hoping someone here can maybe help out with a better ending.

One thought I did have was the mother eventually reveals her real identity to the boyfriend possibly after finding out she is pregnant by him but she doesn't tell him that part. He is obviously shocked by the news. The mother comforts him by telling him she's seen how affected he's been by the situation but is worried about how much longer she can keep up being undercover especially now she is pregnant.

Later, the mob boss makes a visit to collect his payment. During his collection visits, he samples one of the women making him money and this time its the mother's turn. The mother goes with him and hates allowing her daughter's kidnapper to have sex with her but (obviously lol!) finds herself enjoying the mob boss taking his time and pleasuring her.

Afterwards, she cries and the mob boss asks why. The mother can't take it anymore and tells him everything. He tells her he would love to release her daughter but it would be a sign of weakness and he must maintain his standing in the criminal community. The mother has a brainwave and asks to take her daughter's place - the mother will be the hostage until the money is repaid and her daughter will be free to go.

The mafia boss is intrigued by the idea especially remembering just how good the mother was in bed just then. He agrees but on one condition - the mother will not be a hostage but a willing member of his personal harem. The mother reluctantly agrees.

The mafia boss leaves and the mother returns to the boyfriend. She doesn't tell him what's happened at first but she does tell him she loves him and they have a night of passion together.

The next day, the mafia boss contacts the boyfriend and tells him he is releasing the daughter and will be dropping her off at the boyfriend's apartment.

Obviously, her daughter is shocked to see her mother there and dressed so inappropriately. The mafia boss tells them that the mother is taking the daughter's place to the shock of the daughter and boyfriend. The mafia boss allows the mother and daughter a tearful reunion before putting his arm around the mother and leading her away.

The daughter is happy at being released but distraught at how her mother has brought her freedom (of course she still doesn't know about her mother being undercover as a prostitute to infiltrate the gang). The boyfriend is bewildered as his girlfriend is back and he loves her but also loves her mother as well.

Later the boyfriend finds a letter from the mother telling him its better this way as her daughter is young and still has her life ahead of her and he and her daughter can now have a life together. She tells him if he really does love her, he'll leave the life of crime behind and take care of her daughter.

The daughter eventually comes to terms with her ordeal and her mother's sacrifice.

The mother has the baby and passes the mafia boss off as the father.
