Hi,
This might be answered elsewhere but if so I didn't find it through searching, so here goes.
I'm working on a story where all the characters are 18 or older. One of the characters is just 18, and part of the story involves him at age 18 recalling a solitary experience he had masturbating at a younger age. I do fully realize there's a hard limit on characters not being under 18, and while this is just one part of the story I nevertheless feel it's an important part that sets the stage for what follows in the story.
Is it OK to have an adult character recall something from their pre-18 youth? I'm not trying to dodge the age limit. The vast majority of the story takes place when he's 18 or older, but that early solitary experience plays an important role in what brings the rest of the story about.
So far, I've removed any specification of his age in the memory - all the reader would know is that on his 18th birthday he's recalling something from the past - which clearly places that ambiguous point at a pre-18 part of his life.
I've looked at the story for other ways I might change it to not run into this issue; but so far all I've come up with is the highly improbable change that this young man has somehow arrived at age 18 never having masturbated before. That seems unlikely to say the least, and so I feel like such a change would tend to kill the verisimilitude.
Is recounting a memory like this going to make my story unpublishable on Literotica?
