lying on the ground was shot yesterday by Miami police. He was just trying to help an unarmed mental patient. He explained what he was doing to the police. They shot him anyway, handcuffed him, and let him bleed in the street. Seriously, that would have happened to a white therapist? The cop was white. Surprise, surprise, surprise.

And all I'm seeing on the news is Cruz, Cruz, Cruz, Trump, Cruz, Cruz...

Fortunately there are videos of this crime, and there are more to come. They're holding back the more gruesome ones.
 
I've read in The Miami Herald that the PD is already looking to make things right.

So that's why they handcuffed the black guy also, and let him bleed on the street handcuffed until the ambulance came twenty minutes later? That sounds right to you?

Three shots aimed at the autistic guy and only the black guy gets shot? Those stuffed teddy bears won't be going anywhere at the shooting booth at the Miami police carnival.
 
I'm obviously positively biased towards cops, given the recent events.

But I noticed that there's a segment missing from the vid., and I wonder whether the therapist might have made a sudden movement and they shot him out of fear that he might have a gun (shoot to incapacitate sortof, not to kill. And they shot him in the leg in order to avoid vital organs , given his position)

Leaving aside skin colour, the therapist looked like a powerful man and the autistic patient appeared quite vulnerable, by contrast.

And we don't know the exact content of the 911 call that alerted them. Suicidal person? But who?
To me, the autistic patient seemed quite calm and unphased, and the therapist appeared anxious, by contrast, which might have generated confusion.

Who knows? One needs both sides of the story + a clear video shot.

I think some of these guys don't have the right mentality to be cops. There should be better psychological testing for recruits. Most of Florida should be psychologically AND visually tested. Some of those old folks are almost totally blind and they have guns for protection. The plus is that a lot of those Jehovah's Witlesses never live past the welcome mat.
 
It will probably turn out that the therapist bloke has an unpaid parking ticket from 1979. The right wingers will then claim this shows he is obviously a career criminal and had it coming.

The scary thing is that I'm sure they really are trying to find dirt on him to make their actions less horrible.
 
You guys are very judgmental.

Wait for the whole facts to emerge, before jumping in to demonise people.

Might be just poor judgment on the part of cops, as opposed to "bad racists".


Anyway, the guy deserves some monetary compensation and so on.

No it's not. But the mentally ill are usually number two on US cops target list. It was a win/win for them. Miss shooting the mentally ill guy and hit the black guy. Probably would have got a medal if they had killed both.
