How do you feel about this?

Consider that 12 of these monitors will come from countries considered "not free" themselves.

I think it is fucking bullshit and can't believe the US ever signed an agreement allowing for it. If we had to agree to this so as to monitor elections in other countries, not worth it. Fuck 'em.

1) We already had this thread.

2) Good. If America is going to be an example for the free world, let'em watch. They'll learn something.

They won't learn a thing.

You can't teach people that don't want to learn.

It's bullshit. I'll look for the other thread.

Why do you care? Why does this offend you? What do you think they'll see that you'd rather they not?

Offended is an excellent word choice.

I see America as the undisputed, unequaled leader of the free world. It's an insult to that integrity and the "honor system" which separates us from the Philistines. Why should we allow "foreigners" to monitor something so central to our very being? Did 2000 not prove to the world that we could, would and did follow the "rule of law" in an electoral process...

None of your last statement bothers me. Not even the Ohio Romney votes that went for Obama because the machines needed to be "re-calibrated." It was an honest mistake.

We're the leader of the free world. So let's let other countries see us in action if they want. Why is that a problem?

It's not required. We are the leader of the free world!

It leaves me, as American citizen, feeling marginalized and in some ways equal to those people in countries that truly need a monitor.

We're probably paying for a large portion of it. Certainly, if any of it is UN funded which I understand to be the case.

You're not marginalized in any way if some Austrian dude watches our election. And it's microscopically cheap and the observers would be drawing paychecks anyway. You're not being victimized here in any way at all.

What agreement? The UN people come to the USA through normal channels and "monitor". It's not like they have access to ballot counting or anything. Exactly what is it you think they're going to be doing?

It is not the UN its the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, which is made up of mainly European and some central Asian countries and Canada.

Here go look for yourself.http://www.osce.org/

And the US. It looks like they always do this and have probably watched US elections in the past. Their mission is not to "monitor" elections but simply observe them. OMG the indignity!

EDIT: they've observed US elections for the last decade.

In line with ODIHR’s methodology for limited election observation, the mission will not carry out systematic or comprehensive observation of the voting, counting, and tabulation on election day. Mission members will, however, visit a number of polling stations across the country to follow election day procedures.

Joe Stalin usta invite people to Russia, to snoop, and they vanished. HOW DO I KNOW WHERE THEY WENT! MY COUNTRY IS A BIG PLACE, EASY TO GET LOST IN.

Call it what you want.

I'm not down with 12 (according to CBS News) turds from undemocractic Central Asian shitholes coming to America with the presumption of critique for this federal election.

Monitoring is, in fact, another word for critique. That is the intention.

It's bullshit!

Okay you know how America likes to tell other nations that they should have fair and democratic elections? Well we have no credit - zero - if we ban observers from our own elections.

And you realize that if a particular observer comes from a country where they have a checkered history of electoral integrity it doesn't necessarily mean that the observer endorses corruption right? The observers are there to represent their agency (which the US is part of) and not their country. It's not like the nation of Uzbekistan is observing US elections because one of their staffers is Uzbeki.

Agree.

Just another Democrat Party alliance like the one they have with the national press and al Qaeda in Libya and Syria.

Exactly.

The flip-side is the decade-long efforts by the Democrat Party, Jimmy Carter comes to mind, to rush in and rubber-stamp the elections of every single one of these watchdog thugs...

The OSCE has been monitoring elections since 2002 during the Bush Administration. But AJ swears the Democratic party magically controlled the executive branch during the Bush years.

There shouldn't even be a UN in the first place. Its part of the conspiracy to destroy national sovereignty and create a world government under control of Bilderberg and the Trilats.

However, if they can prevent Democrat/DNC fraud and stop illegal aliens and dead people from voting like they have in recent elections its not all bad. Hopefully, they will help check people's IDs at the polling place.

More than an eyebrow was raised.

Do not let these fools rewrite history in their own invention.

Oh the sheer ignorance... Hurts. It just hurts. :(

AJ claims to have me on iggy. Someone bump my post telling him they started observing US elections in 2002 during the Bush Administration.

They are diligently scouring the kingdom for dogs and fire-hoses...

The New Black Panther Party is assisting...

So is Eric Holder.

They have done the same in numerous US elections before. Nobody raised as much as an eyebrow.

How do you feel about that?

What's with posters all of a sudden saying "how do you feel about _______" or "how does that make you feel." Are you all alts of the same person? Kind of peculiar coincidence at any rate.
