Today I received what has got to be one of the best Birthday presents ever. (Yep, I turned 40 today. As my father put it I'm officialy a member of the Dirty Old Mens Club. 
)
When my wife and I left work we met up with our best friend Maria. (Not her real name but it's close enough.) Well we were standing around talking by our cars when my wife asked me to close my eyes for a minute. I agreed to this while wondering what she had up her sleeve. The next thing I know I felt a set of lips pressed against mine, but for some reason they seemed to be tilted up. When I opened my eyes I found myself looking into the dark brown eyes of Maria and not my wife. To say I was startled is an understatement. When I looked at my wife she laughed and told me she had been saving this for my Birthday present, and that she thought I could do much better than I had done. I took that as encouragment but still I didn't do anything until my wife told me she had explained to Maria how I felt about kissing and that not only did my wife give me permission but they both wanted me to kiss Maria. How could I refuse? Turning back to Maria I did my best to make her toes curl. (I must have done good because she had to hold on to me for a while after.)
No Maria did not come home with us, she has two children she has to take care of. That I understand but there is also an understanding that this will be repeated and with time will move forward. My wife and I did attempt to break the bed tonight. (Without success but that's because there is no bedframe. we already broke that.
) In other words, what a Birthday.
