I was working in the living room this afternoon when I heard a car out on the road. Okay, I didn't so much hear the car as I heard the cars radio. My windows were shaking in their frames and I couldn't hear my stereo playing in the room I was in. This didn't stop as is normal, the car seemed stopped for some reason.

I looked out the window and saw the traffic in the East Bound lanes was stopped. I had a good idea why but had to look at my watch to be sure. Yep, it was on the hour so the bridge was up. That meant the cars would be there for a while and I would be forced to listen to this racket. I wasn't happy about this. (To give you an idea of just how loud this was the nearest East Bound Lane is roughly 200 feet from my trailer.)

Stepping outside I looked at the cars parked and waiting for the bridge but couldn't pick out which vehicle the noise was coming from. I was still looking over the hedge when a car coming along in the west bound lanes slowed then stopped a bit further down the road. From my angel I could see the lights come on in the rear window as the driver climbed out and started walking back towards me.

I stayed to watch as he strolled casually along the median until he came to a shiny white H3. He tapped on the window and when there was no response he tapped again. When there was still no response he stepped forward a bit and waved through the windshield getting the drivers attention. When the window was rolled down the sound level went up even higher. (What in the hell kind of radio did this guy have in there?) The two talked for a minute before the sound was thankfully turned down. As this was going on I noticed a couple more guys come strolling along, these guys were dressed alike in green shirts and pants with heavy black belts and bits of shiny on their chests.

As the second and third guys came up behind the vehicle the sound went back up and the window closed. This seemed to be the wrong answer as the door was yanked open and the driver was pulled bodily from the vehicle by all three of the gentlemen. Once he was cuffed one of them reached inside and shut off the noise. I stood there in shock and watched as the guy was led away to one of their vehicles. Arrested for playing ones music too loud?

When the traffic finally started moving again I watched as one of the officers drove the vehicle into a parking lot and started searching it. I recognised the officer and decided to take a chance. I crossed the street and asked him what it had been all about. It turned out not only was the vehicle stolen but the guy had a couple of outstanding warrants. OKay that made more sense to me.

Somehow this guys choices seem a bit strange to me. You would think that while driving a stolen vehicle one would try to keep a bit lower profile.

Sounds like his lights where on but nobody was home. Hard to tell what he was thinking at the time.I bet he was thinking after it was all over he would not do that again, Then maybe not.

Well, depending on the officer's mood, he COULD have been arrested for playing the music too loud, although chances are that that wouldn't have been the actual charge... but when an officer asks you to turn the music down because it's too loud, it's a really good idea to pay attention to the nice man with the badge because he probably isn't going to be that polite the second time he asks. :)
