Is it possible for a male american citizen to get a UK citizenship?

other than marriage, what other ways could he do that?
Does the UK have a path to citizenship program?

I will assume it is pretty close to Canafa and the States
1) spouse/family member
2) accepted to a school program
3) employer sponsored
4) refugee

a quicker more assured route, which Ogg will verify, is that of crossing the med in a rubber boat (youll have to make your own way to africa), hitch a lift from the italian navy, wonder up through spain into france, spend a few weeks in calais (soak up the tourist vibe) hop aboard a cross channel ferry - Kent is awesome in the fall, then border patrol will greet you, give you a house AND a car (no need to have any aptitude at all for driving or directional sense) and you can enjoy the kent countryside until you decide that your destiny is elsewhere in the UK - at which point you will be given a newer bigger house and another car.

Dont fuck about with citizenship.

(the midlands are also very nice)

Don't they still shoot you if you're swimming over from Ireland?

Yes it is. If you have a parent or grandparent who was British the it's very straightforward. If not there is a route to citizenship which is similar to the USA citizenship route. You do have to be living here of course. At the moment, as far as I know US citizens do not need a visa but you may require a work permit.
There is an exam to sit in order to get citizenship. There is another route, you can apply for permanent right to remain. This means that you could live in Britain but retain your US citizenship. The only thing you couldn't do is vote in elections.

We have a similar policy here, but the route is overland.

Here, it's considered racist to object to foreign nationals (both the legal and illegal sort) voting as if they were actual citizens.

It is standard practise in OZ to treat foreign nationals pretty firmly if they get on the wrong side of the law. On release from prison they are sent straight to an immigration detention centre and then back to their country of origin on the first available plane. A fair number have been sent home including people who have lived here for 40 years or more, since they were babies. Ireland, Lebanon and England seem to be the favoured destinations.

It makes no difference if they have an aussie wife and kids, they are still re-patriated.

This should explain it:

https://www.wikihow.com/Become-a-Br...certain requirements to apply. Live in the UK.

I have sponsored several people for UK citizenship. My father sponsored many more, particularly Jews fleeing Nazi Germany and Austria and displaced people after WW2.

Pass the Life in the UK Test. This test is on British culture and life, and you'll find more on it in a later section

This is interesting. Do you need to know history of the UK all the way to King Arthur?

Back to Roman times is advisable, but skip anything to do with Scotland or northern ireland as we won't have them much longer. There is no Welsh history after Edward 2 ... not much before either so. Stick with proper English history - start with Veni Vidi, Vici and finish with Blood, Toil, Tears and Sweat

its all Eco friendly carbonneutral now - its carried out out by a service delivery contractor with a hand crafted long bow no guns.
Should anyone make it past angelsey though the celtic primatives club them to death .

start with Veni Vidi, Vici and finish with Blood, Toil, Tears and Sweat
And DO NOT FORGET the all time comedy classic "We are all in this togther"

(is vindaloo latin?)

I've taken three online versions. Apparently I passed with a minimum of 95 % at worst...

I have several friends whom have been down this route, all came to the UK for work and two of those served in the British Army, and I have attended a couple of the ceremonies/parties.

Some of the people that were born here should also have to study and pass these tests, though what we do with those that fail is a different discussion. ;)

I guess my question is why do you feel the need to take citizenship, is it because you think that is the only way to get right to remain?

I didn't need to take the citizen tests, but I was helping those who had to.

My paternal and maternal famlies have been UK resident for over one thousand years, although at times in my life I had been a resident citizen of Gibraltar, and allowed to remin indefinitely in Australia.

presumably the ones you later referred to as 'foriegn fuck ups'

Nope. These were people who had the sense to want to become British.

The foreign fuck-upd are those trying to make Britain follow EU quotas on fishing after Brexit, so they can continue to destroy world fish stocks.

Ah my bad, thats me on the deportation list then, i never realised that Britain controlled all the worlds fish stocks.

My question was aimed at the original poster ;)

My paternal family (on both sides) have been traced back to the 15th century, you're doing amazingly well to take it any further - unless you're tracing royalty.
