Sure, we’ve heard of cow-tipping, but cow-hugging?...

can you imagine what those poor cows must be thinking? is there a 'metoo' movement for cows?

i see some mad farmers in the near future and stressed-out cows deciding to take things into their own hooves

Two people in the UK have died in the last month, trampled by cows.

This fetish could be a death wish...

could be, but the majority of bovine-caused deaths are farm workers.
Cows may look docile but they kill more than five times the number of people that sharks do. Using statistics from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one research study reported an average of 22 deaths a year by bovines, typically due to stomping or goring.
dunno if those figures are just for america but since it's the cdc i'd think so. dogs are placed at around 28 a year and deer/horses/pigs/other assorted animals kill 52, though these stats don't include vehicular deaths involving those critters as these are tracked separately.

we don't have that problem here when we fish or go into the pastures since our great pyr makes sure she clears all the cows away to what she considers a safe distance between them and us. once they've moved off, she stays somewhere close by on watch.

I've heard the number of cow related deaths have gone through the hoof

Well they do have those big brown eyes. But that is a lot of hamburger standing there so I guess if they are not in the mood, one could get hurt.
