I will just say this, to say we are alone in this Universe is silly............so I am a believer though I have no personal experience but find it hard to believe we are alone in this great Universe.

Logically and statistically they are out there.
Technically it's very unlikely that they could have got here.
Since our radio and TV broadcasts are now about fifty light years out into the Galaxy, it's possible that someone knows we are here. It's also possible that they don't care.
So those aliens with galaxy crossing cultures are probably leaving us alone because they think we are irritating and primitive. The ones who are at a similar technical level to ours can no more get here than we can get to Mars.(Metric system next time guys!)
This is not the space age- it may never be in our lifetime. It's a matter of economics. There is no profit in interplanetary transport, and I don't think that taxpayers will fork out for it! As far as space travel is concerned we have not got to the front gate of our own house yet.

Two different points being made here. Logically, there should be forms of life elsewhere in the universe, evolving in a fashion dictated by different environments. However, UFOs mean things flying around our visible atmostphere and this is really unlikely. What, you think you fly billions of miles to some dot in the sky and you choose to remain inconspicuous?

By the way, statistics are irrelevant in this discussion. We simply have no good data on the "population" of different planets, stars, etc. to make any reasonable assumptions. So when your local ufologist throws up statistics and probabilities as part of his argument, just say no. The only known, provable data point is one planet out of the total of known planets (about 20 or so, really, including the couple we have identified around other stars). You argue this point long enough and monotheism and creationism start to look good.

You would think if they are out there and smarter than us, they would try to save us from ourselves. Maybe they ARE smart but not compassionate. If that's the case maybe we don't want to know them anyway. I just hope if they do come they are saying "nice to be here" and NOT "you better get your headgear on".

Sorry to say this but UFO's who care's, why don't we all just get a life and consentrate on something more useful and productive.

Most likely fact - however, it is vanity on our part as a species to feel we are so damn important that some alien race would go out of their way (billions of lightyears out of their way) just to let us know that they are out there.
