It isn't so much that a group of, ahm, writer's with similar political views decide to hang out together; they have every right to do that.

These are supposed, 'news journalists', with an agenda, a hidden agenda to influence 'talking points' and news releases on chosen subjects or persons.

For example, Governor Palin; a concerted effort to demean her during the campaign and yet they polled 48% to support Palin in a bid for the 2012 General Election...because they think she would be easily defeated.

Once again, the 'usual suspects' who filled page after page with anti Bush rhetoric before the 2008 elections, are now nowhere to be found and remain silent on poignant political issues.

Curious, eh?

My grouse is with journalism these days is precisely this: Journalists often misguidedly or insidiously tend to don the role of crusaders. Their job is to report and inform. I can also condone occasional editorializing or opinions. Sure their personal biases will reflect in creating a mass opinion - and even mass hysteria - but the way its practised these days seems as if their sole agenda is to take up sides to hype someone or some cause or to abuse and denigrate someone else. I am no fan of Bush meself, but the anti Bush rhetoric by the media was disgusting. And Amicus is right, where have many of those writers vanished now? have they been all "bought" by teh Obama regime or is it that they are too ashamed to defend their stories in today's context? If Fox is on end on teh extreme, Hugffington Post is on the other. Objective unbiased journalism is getting rarer and rarer every day.

Worse in my opinion is when journalists are led up teh garden path by shrewd politicians or PR machinery. Many in the field truly believe they are crusading for a just society. Its only when they touch 50 (or thereabouts) do they realise they've been had. And then they either shut up or start writing fiction... A reverse cynicism of sorts is afflicting the journalists of late, I've noticed.

So?

...

In the first place, that list looks like opinion writers for progressive media outlets and think tanks, not hard-news journalists.

And in the second, what's the issue anyway? You mean to have us believe that pundits on the Right never get together to discuss issues with each other?

And in the third... Sarah Palin is an idiot. That much is apparent to the overwhelming majority of the electorate.

Eh, general message on internet seems to me "fuck women in the asses, and come on their faces".

I don't think it turns on women.

To be honest.
