That's right, one million dollars.

Of course, if this was a military intervention, we'd be over there with a battlegroup or two with an untold number of million-dollar drones.

Good luck Nepal!

No religious/resource motivation....so pretty much fuck em.

BACK TO IRAQ!! DA MOOZLEMZ!!! DA MOOZLEMZ!!!

I guess the people who could approve more than the pittance being sent are all busy at the Correspondent's dinner tonight.

Earthquake victims deserve our disdain, not our hard earned tax dollars. They're less than human. Batistat sez so. Just ask AJ.

Hard to argue with that. From the pictures I've seen today, most of the victims seem to be brown people.

Thirteen white folks at the Mount Everest base camp were killed.

I expect to see a tribute to each of them in next week's People magazine.

1 US dollar = 101.960 Nepalese Rupee

For 100 rupees you can get a full meal, a bus ticket, a pot of ginger tea, a short tuk-tuk ride. One million dollars has a lot more purchasing power over there. That being said, one million still seems low. I'm guessing that the U.S. government is also providing support in the form of trained personnel & equipment on the ground that have experience freeing people that are trapped under rubble without killing them.

Also, has any other countries donated money, & if yes, how much? On another note, last time I checked, Nepal was not part of the United States. Horrible shit goes wrong on a daily basis around the world. I'm assuming there is a charity or relief effort that will directly support Nepal. Why don't you donate to that if you feel so strongly about it. There's probably a fund for the volcanic eruption in Chile, and also the refugees that died in the Mediterranean. Have you donated to those as well?

As long as there are starving people in this country, we shouldn't be worried about other countries.

How much have we sent to Cuba for aid? Or Afghanistan?

Did you mean Israel?

Given that Cuba just came off of the terrorist-nation watchlist, I imagine none. As for Afghanistan, you're against making amends for the dump we took in that country? Democracy may be a god-given right, but that doesn't mean that it comes cheap.

As if, they have not had enough troubles, in the last ten years.

Straw that is breaking the back of everything.

I read on the internets that we are sending a carrier battle group over there and it was costing $2 billion a day.
